Going to the swamp and coming out with a win is going to be very difficult. More than likely we don't do it, but I don't see that one as an auto-loss like Bama (and Auburn?). Now after likely getting our shite pushed in by Bama then losing the Florida, it'll be a make or break game vs State with an extra week to prepare. If we come out and win that game then I think we finish the 2nd half 4-2 (I don't think we can hang with Auburn).
That would mean we end the regular season 8-4 (5-3) sitting in 3rd place behind 0-1 loss Bama, 1-2 loss Auburn. Barring a collapse from UF, we'd be sent to the same mid-tier group of 6 bowl games. While we are 0-2 over the last 2 years in them, they are very winnable. Can we get to 9?
At this point, I have no idea what to think will happen to Sumlin if we finish 8-4 (5-3). Fired or not, we very well could win 9 games and finish ranked in the 20s while most of us expected 6 or 7 wins.

Ole Miss and New Mexico are wins
2/4 of the others
8-4 finish
Our ceiling is 10-2. If these Freshman keep getting better, who knows? Sumlin might buy himself an extra year if the right hire isn't available.

@ Florida leaning toward us pulling this off.
Bye
Mississippi St 50/50
Auburn - Loss
New Mexico - Win
@ Ole Miss - Win
@ LSU - Win
Think we beat either Florida or Miss St. Sumlin going to finish up with 8 wins despite playing a lot of freshman and losing Starkel to start the year. Right now I would say 80% chance that Sumlin going to be HC next year.

Ditto to CGSC, 6-6. That was a fun game last night but USC is not a good team.

At least be consistent. You posted on he score board we would lose to Ole Miss.

6-6 or 7-5. Beat NM, go 1-2 or 2-1 vs the MS schools and LSU. Losses to Bama Auburn and Florida

If we stay relatively healthy the rest of the year, 6 wins is the floor and 8 wins the ceiling. If all of the freshmen keep improving and the O-line combinations stabilize, we might be able to steal another game.
We are catching a break with Florida being depleted with suspensions and injuries. Auburn has a single point of failure if Stidham gets injured. Malzahn's offense will not run without a competent QB and I don't think he has a reliable backup.
Right now, the only automatic losses I see are Alabama and Auburn.

Ceiling is 10-2. The only truly unwinnable game is Bama.

USC and Arkansas are bad teams. We have two one score wins In sec so far against trash. La tech could have beat SC, UK did and almost lost to emu.
That said no one on our schedule outside the state of Alabama is unbeatable this year.
Florida is finding their identity running the Ball and taking deep shots off pa. Their offense actually is a decent matchup for us though.
Who knows what to expect from msu or LSU.
Ole miss is a dumpster fire.
However many wins we finish with this year, we need an asterisk.

The same could be said of 2012. Auburn sucked, Arkansas had an interim coach, Mississippi State was barely finding their groove, Ole Miss was rebuilding, and Missouri was injured everywhere.
Only good teams on our schedule that year were Alabama, LSU, and Florida. We almost lost to Louisiana Tech for fricks sake (granted...they had a good offense, but it still shouldn't have been that close).
Do we stick an asterisk on that season as well?

We should have. It would have saved us a lot of money and time. We were so starved for success and expecting years of sec ladder to climb we drank all the koolaid.

6-6 with a toilet bowl and probably a loss there.
5-7 just as likely.

Have you seen Auburn's defense? It's top 5 in the country and is going to absolutely destroy Mond. Yes, there's always the puncher's chance for us to complete a few huge, game-changing plays (happens in a few games every year), but barring that, we are not beating Auburn.
Personally I think we're about to kick-off an 0-4 stretch with a 40+ point home loss to Alabama, and then we will go 1-1 against Ole Miss and LSU. I say this because South Carolina and Arkansas are 6-6 level teams (if that) and both of them took us to the wire (and Arkansas would have beaten us if Bert hadn't channeled UCLA-game Sumlin and called pass play after pass play despite his RBs killing us almost every rush).
Honestly, even New Mexico is losable if we are a little distracted after a brutal stretch and come out of the locker room lethargic (as we've done numerous times this year). Bob Davie has really improved that team. They aren't "good," but they're far from the doormat they used to be.

Isn't Davie under investigation?
