LOL at all the morons that think aTm is better. Everyone that says aTm is better uses the reasons of better recruiting state, better facilities, more money, etc. They have had that for years and yet have become a national or even conference contender. One of the reasons they left the Big 12 because they had all that as mentioned before and still could not compete on a regular basis.
Delusional is delusional but please explain to me in the history of the aTm program with all these great benefits they have why are they not a top tier program.

Tennessee probably. Money isn't an option for either. Hell really and truly for any SEC school if they want to pay it. ATM is in the West with a tougher path to a championship. Tennessee who is geographically in a less favorable recruiting base has proven in past they can recruit nationally. Plus TN has a more storied tradition.

Literally addressed that in the post you're responding to.
OP is specifically asking the question, which is a better JOB. Answer is clearly A&M for a multitude of reasons.
Also, Tennessee is not considered "top-tier" by anyone with a brain.

I guess 4 years is technically "years."
Very few posters on this board can possibly appreciate the transformation of A&M from a small, all male military and farming school into the institution it is today. We played at LSU virtually every game into the 70s, because we weren't big enough to warrant a home-and-home.

Because of recruiting and resources, most would say TAMU and that wouldn't be wrong. That said, UT being in the East is a huge advantage. Winning the West is next impossible these days and Saban could legit coach another 5-10 years. Safer bet might be UT, and they have great facilities and tradition. Probably comes down to personal preference.

Except I read the thread title which ask which is the better job. Right now aTm has no advantage over UT in any form. Even in recruiting because with the entrance of aTm into the SEC you opened up that fertile recruiting area for the SEC(besides LSU who already did well in TX)which now has games in most major TV markets.
So again the thread title is which is the better job so I can read and to answer the question neither team may not currently be a top tier program but for an incoming coach trying to build a top tier program UT has a blueprint for it but aTm does not.

This question is so easy, talent isn't being developed and utilized, it's that simple, a coaching problem. Look at the top 15 recruiting classes over the last 5 years, no one has underachieved as much as A&M has.
Here's an even better look, Kevin Sumlin's full recruiting classes average a national ranking of 11, varying from top 5 to 18, so in theory if you develop and evaluate talent properly, you can be a top 11 team. Since Manziel we have NOT been anywhere near a consistent top 11 team, sometimes we play like it but the cracks always show and the foundation falls. Shoot, Sumlin wasn't even here to recruit Manziel and Mike Evans so he shouldn't even get the credit for that.
All the pieces for success are here NOW, but Sumlin isn't putting them together.

If I'm a coach right now it's gotta be Tennessee. If they get the right guy they can be top 15 and win the east asap.

Tennessee is a much nicer state.

The issue is aTm even with the state of the current UT program is still behind UT. aTm tried to transform their program by getting out of the shadow of Texas and joining the SEC but it did not help recruiting as much as it could have even with Texas in a downward spiral the last few years.
As others mentioned UT is in the East and even with Jones at the helm they have been able to finish 2nd in the East the last two years. They can recruit nationally even currently because of their brand. In all honestly Jones has done a better job at UT then Sumlin has at aTm during the same time frame and aTm has given everything for Sumlin to be successful.
aTm is like the person who won the lottery. Trying to get a seat at the front table by throwing money everywhere as UT is from old money and has been there. The road map to success for UT is there as proven by its history but I think Jones is not the guy to get them there even though he has put them in the right direction.

A&M and Tennessee should swap historical expectations, honestly.

Top job in Texas is Texas, top job in Tennessee is the Vols
