You shouldn't learn your college football history from posts on SEC fan websites. They tend to not reflect reality.

1992: 13-0 National title
1993: 9-3
1994: 12-1 1st SEC West
1995: 8-3
1996: 10-3 1st SEC West tied w/LSU. Bama to SECCG
1997: 4-7
1998: 7-5
1999: 10-3 SEC Title
2000: 3-8
2001: 7-5
2002: 10-3 1st SEC West. Ineligible for SECCG
2003: 4-9
2004: 6-6
2005: 10-2
2006: 6-7

So, in a 15 year span that's 6 10 win seasons, 5 1st place division finishes, 2 conference titles, and 1 national title.

The only standard by which that's considered "so bad" is the Bama standard.
