Oh I don;t disagree with that, I just hate when people make arguments like that. I really think had LSU beaten Florida, that poster wouldn't have viewed Florida as a team with a pulse either. They would have just been an unranked team at the end of the season with 5 losses.
Absolutely.

You mean the same Clemson that has a Dabo Swinney. Isn't he the same coach that is considered a CEO type coach, that allows his Coordinators to call the plays? You mean the guy known better as a recruiter than an actual coach on the field?
Difference is Dabo does know offense. He called plays when he was an interim HC before being upgraded to permanent HC, so it's not as if he's devoid of strategic knowledge. Dabo's not a good comparison at all.

no two coaches are going to be a 100% exact comparison to another. Dabo is absolutely a reasonably good comparison based on his resume when he took over as HC for Clemson. Saying he's not a good comparison "at all" because of his duties an an interim HC is being intentionally obtuse.

well, Louisville lost the two games right before they played you to Houston & Kentucky by a combined 77-48. I'd say riding that 2 game losing streak in which they averaged giving up 38.5 points per game would indicate they weren't exactly crushing it by the time they played LSU.

ok, lets use your parameters for what gives a team a "pulse" and you tell me who Alabama beat with a pulse the entire season? Is Washington the only game Alabama won against a team with a pulse?
See how ridiculous that sounds?

I get that you want to defend your team. I really do. Understand it completely. That said, we were talking about teams LSU played while Ed O was the HC and even if you want to give UL credit for being "good" - despite coming off back to back loses to freaking Kentucky (no offense cat fans) and Houston - then Ed was still 1-2 against the three good teams he played.

I will admit, I'm very worried about LSU's linebackers. I also feel like the d-line is still a little thin, similar to last year.
I like the starting offensive line at the moment, but one more injury to the starting lineup (especially on the left side or center) could put us in trouble.
I feel like our recieving corp isn't anything special either.
However, I really like our backfield (possibly the best in the nation), half of our d-line, and our secondary (possibly the best in the nation. I am certain that they will execute well and have excellent scheme, but that doesn't mean that there are not question marks all over the field.
However, there are no NCAA Football teams without question marks.

So you are going to knock him losing to Alabama? 13 other teams did that too. I just think you'd be a fool to watch how LSU played, regardless of opponent, the last 8 games of the season, and not see a noticeable improvement from how they had been playing the past couple of seasons. Does that mean he's going to be a homerun hire? No. Does that mean anything he did last year should be discredited? No.
I completely understand your hope that Orgeron turns out to be a bad hire, I really do. Understand it completely. We're in the same division, and we both know LSU has the ability as a program to be among the elites. No one in the SEC would want LSU to get back to that point. That said, you can't just gerrymander who you think is a good team and who isn't because it fits your argument better. I could literally do that with every tea on Alabama's schedule outside of the game you lost. But it would sound foolish because it is.

Orgeron dropped a couple megaton bombs. He doesn't need to say much - his body of work speaks for itself. Took over a team that was reeling after losing to the gump juniors and almost won the west - the toughest division of the toughest conference in America.
Orgeron is cool and confident. As he should be. He's here to win it all and it doesn't look like anyone will stop him.

LSU almost win the West with 3 conference losses. I have heard it all now.
At least the LSU fans are seeing the glass half full right now. I'm guessing next off-season won't be as optimistic, after O losses to Bama and Florida again and blows some other games they should win.
Don't overlook BYU, seems like the perfect team for O to lose too.
