That season they were the third best rushing team in the state of Tennessee--behind Vandy and MTSU.


You are looking at total rushing yards, obviously...not yards per carry. They averaged 4.7 yards per carry (4th best in the SEC).

Other indications that they were a good OL unit...

They threw the ball 477 times that season, and gave up 8 sacks. That is one sack for every 60 attempts.

They averaged 36.2 points per game (4th best in the SEC).

They averaged 315 passing yards per game (2nd best in the SEC).

They averaged 24.1 first downs per game (2nd best in the SEC).



2012 SEC Football Offensive Stats.

They didn't run a lot because Chaney was pass-happy. To say it wasn't a productive line is not accurate. That team lost games because the defense was the worst in UT history (giving up 35 points per game).
