LSU fans believe in magic, bourbon, women, jambalaya, Saturday nights and tailgating drunk. They have no tolerance for rain or traffic or coaches who don't win big every season. They love hunting, fishing, and Mike the Tiger.
GBFTL Alum.
Been going to games since the mid-60's.
Have seen 90% of the games in Tiger Stadium from 72 to the present.
I DO NOT drink, hunt, fish or tailgate.
I'm there strictly for the game, not the social/party aspect of it all, so your broad generalities of LSU Fans are not accurate for all.............

I've always had great experiences at away games, and I have been to almost every SEC stadium.
The only negative I've ever had is a half eaten apple was thrown at us at a grocery store in Gainesville before we got to campus. Didn't hit us, but I was like wtf. Ended up tailgating with some awesome arse gators though. They had corn dogs in a lasso, they called a lsu trap. I told him better bait is bud light. He said beer is free if you take a picture in the trap. We did, we all laughed, and then we tailgated the rest of the day.

LSU fans are some of the best people I know.

Years back I was a BSA scoutmaster when LSU played someone (MSU or UM - I can't remember) at Veterans' Memorial in Jackson. The stadium used Boy Scouts as ushers. If they wore their uniforms, they got in free.
My memory was that LSU won the game by a large margin - no contest at all.
After the game we were walking across the lot to our van and an intoxicated LSU guy jumped one of my scouts, took his hat and ran away laughing and he cursed us, Boy Scouts and the State of Mississippi.
He got about 20 yards away when there was suddenly a BIG Miss. Highway Patrol officer standing in front of him. The HP officer in one fluid motion, pulled his stick and caught the guy quarely across his forehead. From the crack I thought the stick broke, but it seemed unharmed by the contact. The LSU guy fell like a mighty tree, with the back of his head breaking his fall as it hit the pavement.
The officer took the scout's hat out of the drunk's hand, walked over to us and apologized to the scout as he gave him his hat back. I always wondered if the LSU guy survived his post game adventure, because he never moved when he hit the pavement and was still motionless there as we walked away.
I will never forget that.
Scout's Honor.

I went to the 21-0 suck show. I was sitting between the worst LSU fan and an very nice Alabama fan who brought his well mannered 12 year old son. Behind me were 2 MILFs dressed in Alabama gear. (Wish i would have taken a picture).
The MILFs and father son were not rabid fans and knew a bunch of players names, but that was about it. They were there just to enjoy themselves.
The LSU guy looked like a dirtbag and was blasted drunk. He had a very pretty girl with him who seemed embarrassed. I got the impression the only reason she was with him was to go to the game.
The drunken slob began cussing at the Alabama fans telling them how shitty their team was a they were trash for pulling for them.
He left his seat sometime in the 1st quarter and I took the time to appologize to the 4 who thanked me and dismissed him as a jack arse fan.
The guy never returned. I suspect he got tossed, because of his mouth.
Even though we lost badly the Alabama fans never gloated, rubbed it in and were also questioning why we didnt make a QB change.
Until that slob left I had never felt so embarrassed to wear purple and gold.
Edited because I can't spell simple words.

Story 2
I went to Orlando for the LSU PSU game. I aslo got tickets for the Miami Wisconsin game.
At the beginning of the game I was pulling for Miami. There was a 20 something couple sitting next to me wearing Wisconsin shirts. Behind us were Miami fans. Miami was doing well for a while and the fans behind were cheering and seemed normal.
Wisconsin made a big play after taking the lead (going off drunken memory) and the couple next to me stood up and started cheering. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a girl in a Miami shirt throw a full beer on the young girl. The who vroup started pointing and laughing at the beer drenched girl and they reminded me of a wolf pack eyeing prey.
A fight almost started and I held back the guy in the Wisconsin shirt because he was about to get killed. Police came and initially went to throw out the winsconsin fan. They escorted them into the breezeway.
I followed them out and got the attention of the Sgt and explained what happened. We went back in and they removed 3 people from the group behind me as well as moved the couple to better seats.
I exchanged phone numbers with the couple who happened to own a bar in Orlando and my buddy and I drank free the next night.
Miami fans are about as bad as they come if you go to Florida to watch a game. When they travelled to the sugar bowl vs florida the expense of the trip weeded out the slobs.

Just the typical STTDB to my preteen daughters by grown men cause they were wearing State shirts at the game.
I actually think it upset some of the decent LSU fans around us as much as us, so at least a segment of the fan base is not pure trash.

I know that this is a little off topic, but Meridian is a great place.
I lived there twice while going through apprenticeship school with the Navy.

You guys are good southern men and women in person but here on social media you are the worst when it comes to acting with class and integrity. You let your strong dislike of the Bama football program affect how you treat fans of that program. 80% of you are terrible in this regard.

2012 LSU vs Bama game. Very enthusiastic drunk Bama fan was cheering(non-vulgar) in the stands in the middle of a group of older LSU fans. One of the older ladies ask him if he would stop, to which he replied, "It's a football game. I'll cheer as loud as I want." Minutes later he was removed for some undisclosed reason
I was at the Florida game in 2007 cheering (non-vulgar) and frequently standing, as were people in front of me, meaning I kind of had to, and the old LSU women behind me were constantly bitching. They didn't want to stand and apparently the cheering was bothering them. There are old farts with sticks up their asses out there for sure.

Blue hairs suck. Period. And don't most of you on here give me shite about it... you agree. I see some of the replies to LSU GrandDad.
quote:I think what he was trying to convey was that Slidell is not in Acadiana, hence not cajun or coon arse.
So you're telling me that not one cajun person has been to Slidell, or lives in Slidell?
Is there some kind of invisible wall around Slidell that keeps all Baws out?
After receiving orders to transfer to California, my now ex wife and I drove through Louisiana with another couple and stopped in a few places along the way, Slidell being one of them

I had an LSU fan pass out and piss himself at a party I had. Good guy, just doesn't have that cut-off function with alcohol. Guess that's the closest thing to terrible, although I find it a little funny.
