Auburn literally shite the bed the past two seasons. Both games we should have won but high school Gus fricked it all up and choked the game away.
Meh...you guys were way overmatched last season. Game was never in doubt.
You can blame Champ for that 30 yard penalty the year before. That one helped turn the game.

Lot of people in this thread confusing the word EXPECT with the word HOPE.
As a Bama fan I HOPE to beat AU in basketball, baseball, whatever every time the two teams play. Reality prevents me from EXPECTING victory in some sports b/c AU has the better team. Football is a sport where Bama has the better team almost every year for the past decade.

I don't know about that. 2015 should have been more competitive towards the end. 2016 was okay but we never had a chance with Johnson at the helm.
The real frick up was 2014. We were torching Bama downfield and Sims was struggling to complete passes against our zone coverage. 2nd half adjustment was to stop throwing the ball and put a subpar corner in man-to-man coverage on the best receiver in football.
The only reason why we lost that game (up 12 points in the 3rd and Bama looked lost) was coaching.
It's understandable though. It must be a chore weeding through the AU losses in the last 2 1/2 years with Gus' mind-boggling play calling and predictable scheme.

I did not expect us to win last year.
As far as this year, I have no clue right now. We need to see how the quarterback and new OC produce.
I think Alabama will be very strong, but if we can show some good passes down the field, we may do well against the Alabama safeties. But again, it is hard to expect anything until several games have been played.
Honestly, I expect to win along a 1:3 ratio. I hope we win every time. I can come up with reasons we could win every time, but that is not the expectation.
Sadly, I worry more about the Georgia hump these days than I do Alabama.
And an aside, I really hate the way both Al and Ga are now at home and away on the same years and really dislike the division scheduling of the SEC in general. I was reading on the LSU page that the next time they get the chance to play @ Tenn after this year is in 12 years. In my view, something has gone very wrong here.
I EXPECT to get to see east division games at home and away at least every decade.

In 2012 I didn't think AU a .000000001 chance against Bama.

Nah the real reason the game turned was the steely resolve of this guy:

Blake Sims threw his third interception. Jacob Coker is warming up to come into the game. Alabama’s playoff hopes on the line while trailing to Auburn in the Iron Bowl. This guy just needed a bite of those sweet, sweet nachos.

Georgia has our number.

As soon as we start playing the game with Bama on the recruiting trail again, we will starting playing the game consistently on the field.
We literally had our boots on the throat of the Alabama program in January/February of 2011 and we let them buy their way out of it.
We have no one to blame but ourselves for Saban becoming who he is now.

Trust me, Gus and his sophomoric decision-making regarding all things our program are unbearably frustrating.

The talent is there, the facilities are there, the fan support is there, the money for football is there.
Why should Auburn shoulder the blame for Saban becoming the best in the business now?

Maybe so. Perhaps it was the triumvirate of Exasperated Run Da Bawl Guy, These Sweet Sweet Nachos Guy, and Emotionless Potential Sociopath Guy that turned the tide together.

Why should Auburn shoulder the blame for Saban becoming the best in the business now?
After watching the 2010 Auburn national championship and in danger of seeing a second consecutive recruiting class finish ranked behind the Tigers, Bama boosters bought Saban out of harm's way and saved his arse with the 2011 class. To further insulate and protect Saban, they decided to make the purchase of Auburn's top target an annual thing moving forward.
It's our fault that we allowed it to happen. We literally had your program and his entire career by the throat. We chose not to outbid and it made the two programs what they are today.
