Well one thing we’ve desperately need for years is pure shooters. If we can get a bunch of guys who are considered great shooters that need work in other places, I’m fine with that. That’s better than getting a guy who is great at defense and can’t shoot, bc sometimes u can’t teach a player to get better shooting wise

Not sure I am with you on this 100%. I think teaching a guy to be a catch and shoot open 3pt shooter is just coaching, player effort and practice volume.

Example: Auburn's Anfernee McLemore shot 18-46 3FG (~40%) with a shot that would make Rodney Dangerfield look attractive. McLemore just spends hours to ensure when open, he hits the shot. He probably could never hit shots in transition or defended

I agree when it comes to what I'd call "true shooters." Not sure you can realistically teach the natural feel to adjust their shot/arc in the moment when off balance, shooting over defender or from unusual locations

Example: Jimmer Fredette has the body control and feel to adjust any shot despite momentum, balance etc
