Second year in a row I’m gonna have to miss that game bc of it being on a weekday. I fricking hate that

Not sure I am with you on this 100%. I think teaching a guy to be a catch and shoot open 3pt shooter is just coaching, player effort and practice volume.
that's absurd. A good bit of shooting is mental. You can't be afraid to miss. You have to have a good mindset to make it consistenly. You can't teach that. They should have that before arriving to a D1 program imo.

You sure as shite can instill confidence in players. That's a huge part of good coaching
I refuse to believe that a kid who can drain high volume amt shots in practice, a green light from the coach and game reps to adjust to in game situations can't become a reliable shooter

Geez, what record do you see Bama after the first 5 SEC games? They could go anywhere from about 3-2 to 0-5 in this stretch.

A&M is supposed to be bad this season, at home, that should be a win.

3-2 or 4-1.

Mizzou on the road is possible if the team comes out shooting confidently. I don't know if they cam trade blows with a team that doesn't allow them to dictate the pace of the game.

you're moving the goal post a bit here
players don't miss shots because of coaches...ever
John Petty can shoot a basketball. He failed at that last year b/c of something in his head. When he figures that out or stops worrying about it, they'll fall again. Coaches telling him it's going to be okay won't help him. He has to get over whatever it is, the speed of the game, fear of failing...whatever it is.

is the schedule finalized? so we have 15 home Tusc games and no Bham game? Didn't we have 16 Tusc, 1 Bham and 1 Hville last year?
Posted on 8/25/18 at 12:34 pm to McGregor
It’s finalized. No BHam game

Given his comically extreme home/road splits I'm guessing it was either just lack of comfort playing in a new, unfamiliar arena for every road game or some sort of travel anxiety. If it's the former I expect him to be a lot better this season since nothing will be new to him.

Tom, thank you for posting the schedule. Bird, Shack's preferred schools may be for academics or coaching chemistry. Admittedly, I know nothing of San Diego's academics.

I would say Pettys struggles on the road were because he wasnt comfortable with the backdrop/depth perception of other Arenas. Similar to a hitter in baseball not being comfortable with the batters eye at some stadiums.
