In the last few years, LSU has had games against Wisconsin, Oregon, North Carolina, TCU and a couple of others, I think, all scheduled less than three years before they played.

And all were opening games. Not a game on into the season a bit. Opening games are easier to schedule.
Arkansas had the series with Michigan in place for four years. Just over 2 years left until the first meeting happens, Michigan backs out. So Arkansas has been scrambling trying to fill the hole in the schedule left by Harbaugh and Michigan not wanting to play an SEC team.

Not sure why Arkansas didn't play byu in 2018 on the road and at home in 2019, they have open dates. 2020 should be Oklahoma in neutral game
