I am pumped as well. His name carries a lot of weight. Reading about how sophisticated his playbook is, a recruit should see that this is a solid opportunity to make it to the league.

A top 10 recruiting class would be a great start to this new era of Aggie Football.

A&M has to look at several other QB options. The main one is five-star Justin Fields out of Georgia.

If this happens, feel free to ban me from this board because I will be way too pissed to interact with y'all... You just got a top 5 coach in CFB, leave our recruits out of this

Also, to the poster who said y'all would go after McGee, I have a really hard time seeing him leaving for anything other than a coordinator/OC position. We should pay the guy whatever it's worth to keep him.

But if y'all end up with Brewster, Craig, Price, and Coley, that's one helluva recruiting staff. If Texas doesn't win 9+ games next year, you should own the state in recruiting for the formidable future IMO.

Well let's wait until after the playoffs. If the odds play out, and we don't win, then please don't do that. If the Georgia sports curse is somehow broken, then I will be in this phase for the next year of my life and you can do almost anything you want to me (take that how you will ):

And I apologize that this post had no substance, so I'll contribute by saying that James Coley's receivers block better than any WRs I've maybe seen at the collegiate level.

Brice Jones @Brice_Jones So High school coaches are pissed about Jimbo for meeting with a 7-on-7 coach today. Some thoughts...

Texas High School coaches are drama queens and don't like AAU/7v7 type leagues/teams (well, don't like college recruiters talking to them; love the leagues because it's extra practice). They've successfully resisted it for years, but those days are over the and the select teams are here to say in football. High school coaches want A&M and UT to go through THEM no matter what when it comes to recruiting their players.

It's politics, and Jimbo has dealt with this before so I really doubt he can't mend fences. It's really a sign that he is going to be more aggressive than we have ever seen on the recruiting trail. If that ruffles a few feathers, so be it. Parents love him, and the majority of coaches know he respects their involvement in the process immensely. In reality this is probably a few UT-loyalists high school coaches getting their pussies frizzled because Jimbo is going to work every angle.

Hahahahahaha isn't he their only DL commit. They keep chirping about steal Wright and Brown but they aren't going to be able to keep the one guy they got on board.

Very reminiscent of Henderson/Alaka at the end of the 2014 cycle except they jumped ship when Charlie got to town.

If coburn jumps they are in trouble. They have nothing in the trenches. Herman better cash in on a raise and extension for a top recruiting class, bc their record may get worse before it gets better.

Their ceiling is already set at 7-5 for next year with 6-6, 5-7 being equally possible

Can they beat any of USC, TCU, OU, OSU?
Can they beat all of TT, KSU, WVU, ISU, Maryland, Tulsa?

If you answered No to both, then they are maxing out a 7-5 next year. Keep in mind all the transfers

I disagree, but I'm a little biased

We went 8-5 last year, and looked like complete dog crap while doing it. Our O line had no push at all. We lost to freaking Vanderbilt and only beat Nicholls by 2.

Texas' defense should be decent as long as they don't lose their DC and the O line really can't be any worse. This year, they could have easily lost the K State game, but just as easily beat OK State, USC, and Tx Tech if they don't make some costly errors. I expect them to be around an 8 win team, but they played everyone pretty close this year outside of TCU.

But as far as recruiting goes, we were fortunate to finish with 8 wins, and then build on that this season. IMO, Texas needs to beat Mizzou, and then start of well to try and sustain any momentum because if they don't Jimbo is coming in to steal ALL the recruits.
