Why Marshall is done with the Tide

I didn’t get a chance to see 5-star wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. in action all that much on Sunday while I was at the New Orleans Opening regional, but the consensus from those I spoke with at the event who did said Marshall was the best overall player in attendance.

He dominated opposing defensive backs, ran one of the fastest 40 times and took rep after rep, even though he didn’t have anything to prove because he’s already one of the top recruits in the country.

Marshall won’t be going to Alabama, though.

When SEC Country approached Marshall for an interview to talk about the Tide, he ended it immediately and said he was no longer considering the team.

Marshall attends Parkway High School in Bossier City, La. Significantly, Marshall’s former coach at Parkway is David Feaster, the man who publicly said Alabama was not allowed at the school because of how it recruited former LSU quarterback Brandon Harris. Feaster, who is an LSU fan, felt like Alabama wasn’t truthful with its offer to Harris, so he banned the team from recruiting his players on campus. He was fired last month.

The nation’s No. 3 wide receiver told SEC Country that Feaster’s dismissal had nothing to do with him not considering Alabama anymore. It stems from former wide receivers coach Billy Napier leaving for Arizona State. Marshall claims that since Napier left Alabama, he hasn’t heard from the staff much.

It should be noted that even though Marshall says Feaster’s firing has nothing to do with his lack of interest in Alabama now, Marshall was one of the outspoken members of Parkway’s football team when he heard the news of Feaster’s dismissal.

The state of Louisiana’s No. 1 prospect has visited Tuscaloosa multiple times in the past; but moving forward, Alabama is scratched off his list.

LSU is the clear favorite to land his commitment whenever he does make his commitment.
