Bobby Brown appears to be the top defensive player on our board after his camp performance.

He's scheduled to commit on November 2nd.

The QB board appears to be Tanner McKee, Matt Corral and Jack Tuttle.

It appears Justin Fields' decision will have a huge impact for us. Most think he is Georgia bound so Corral could come down to us and Florida.

USC is after Tuttle hard.

Noah Sewell has six offers to his name and three years of high school remaining to continue making an impression.

The class of 2020 linebacker from St. George (Utah) Desert Hills recently added an offer from powerhouse Alabama, and has been busy this offseason with stops at Nevada, USC, UCLA, Arizona State and Arizona, as well as in-state programs BYU and Utah.

Check out the video above to hear what Sewell had to say at All Poly Camp about his early offers and recent campus visits.

LSU took a commitment from a 3-star RB today.

I wonder what that means for Harold Joiner?

Auburn is among the favorites for Jackson-Olin defensive lineman Coynis Miller.

The four-star recruit released his top five schools Thursday morning, which included Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Louisville and Oregon.

Auburn making the cut shouldn't come as a surprise.

Miller has visited Auburn several times, including most recently for the Tigers’ Big Cat event June 3. He’s also developed a strong bond with defensive line coach Rodney Garner, and is close friends and former teammates with Auburn freshman linebacker Tadarian Moultry.

“It's like family,” Miller said after Big Cat. “It’s laid back.”

Miller’s first season at Auburn wouldn’t be laid back, though. Garner already has informed the defensive tackle to be ready to play as a freshman should he sign with Auburn.

“That's a big thing,” Miller said. “I'm looking to play early.”

Miller could make an early commitment. He at least hopes to, although only if he’s certain of his decision.

“I talked to my coach (Tim Vakakes) and some more people about committing before the season,” Miller said. “My coach just told me to take my time with it. If I'm ready, then I've got his support and I can go ahead and do it. He told me he wants me to take my time with it and make sure I pick the right school.”

Rivals ranks Miller, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 295 pounds, the No. 11 strongside defensive end in the 2018 class and No. 207 in the Rivals250.

Robby Ashford is a name to get familiar with in the state of Alabama’s 2020 class.

The soon-to-be sophomore from Hoover already lays claim to four offers, including a pair of SEC bids from Georgia and Missouri.

“I think it’s a big deal to me,” Ashford told BamaOnLine of the early attention. “It’s really special to have those two offers from big SEC schools so early.”

Ashford hasn’t wasted time in the recruiting game, already making a number of visits. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder recently returned home from a Clemson-South Carolina-Georgia swing.

“I really feel honored and excited that they feel I can come in and be a part of their program in the future,” Ashford said of his visit to Athens. “I loved the school, and I loved everything about the football facility, and the coaches. They treated me really well while I was down there. They made me feel like it was home. I could definitely see myself playing down there in the future.”

While he didn’t pick up an offer on the visit, Clemson is another program Ashford has high interest in.

“Clemson’s one for sure,” he said of coveted offers. “They told me they loved everything they saw, it’s just they don’t offer quarterbacks early. I think (my favorite part) was probably meeting Dabo (Swinney), and just having a conversation with him.

There’s one school down the road, however, that has a special place in the Ashford family’s heart – Alabama.

“It’s a childhood favorite school for sure,” Ashford said.

You’d be hard-pressed to count the number of family members that went through the Alabama system. Ashford’s father is a UA grad, his mother a UAB grad. Ashford’s sister, Brandi, graduated from the University, and is married to former Tide defensive lineman Damion Square.

“We heard that they are interested,” Meloney Ashford, Robby’s mother, said. “Damion was down for A-Day, but we were at the Rivals Camp in Atlanta that weekend, and (Jeremy Pruitt) pulled him aside and said, ‘Hey tell me about your brother that’s down here in Hoover that’s doing great things. We’re looking at him and we’ve heard good things. We want to get in touch with him.”

An offer from the Crimson Tide would certainly be a momentous achievement for Ashford, but don’t expect it to just end his recruitment.

“I definitely want to see how it all unfolds, and visit different colleges, see how I feel at their university,” Ashford said. “Eventually just make a top ten and commit from there.”

Ashford, an accomplished baseball player, hopes to be a dual-sport athlete in college. Alabama, as have a number of other schools, has expressed interest in the Hoover quarterback’s talents on the diamond as well as the football field.

If his baseball schedule allows, Ashford hopes to workout for Alabama in Tuscaloosa at some point this summer.

I got a little lazy last night in summarizing the BOL Camp Nuggets. They mentioned a couple underclassmen to keep an eye on.

First up is a 2019 DT from Brewton, AL (where the frick is that?):

Ricky Samuel

I can't find any highlights for him.

The other was a 2020 WR named Kendrick Rogers from Prattville. He doesn't have a profile on 247 yet.

Kyler McMichael, a 4-star cornerback from Greater Atlanta Christian School (Norcross, Ga.), committed to Clemson over Alabama and Georgia on Friday morning. McMichael was one of the Crimson Tide’s top targets at cornerback, but Alabama can officially cross him off the list as he says he’s locked in with Clemson and won’t be taking visits elsewhere.

Now that McMichael is off the board, where does Alabama turn to now to fill one of its most important positions in the Class of 2018? Here are some names to know moving forward:

Tyson Campbell, 4-star prospect, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Campbell is at the top of Alabama’s board at cornerback. He recently attended a Florida International University satellite camp where he and his family got to spend some time with several Alabama coaches, including Nick Saban.

The nation’s No. 3 cornerback is very quiet about his recruitment, so it’s hard to get a gauge for where things stand with the Florida prospect. SEC Country will be in Oregon next week for Nike’s “The Opening” camp where Campbell will be, too, so hopefully, we can get a full update on where he stands at that time.

Alabama, LSU, Miami and Ohio State are believed to be at the top of Campbell’s list.

Josh Jobe, 4-star prospect, Miami

Jobe has been committed to Miami since 2015 and continues to say all of the right things publicly about his status with the Hurricanes. But, like Campbell, Jobe attended the satellite camp to get some face time with the Alabama staff. I thought that was an interesting trip for Jobe, who has said his recruitment is 100 percent over. There is no reason for him to travel to a satellite camp at FIU where there were zero Miami coaches in attendance if he’s locked in with the Canes.

He also talks to the Alabama staff frequently. Again, another sign that his recruitment truly isn’t over.

Jobe will play his senior season at a boarding school in Connecticut where there will be less pressure on him to stay committed to Miami. Don’t be surprised to see him flip to the Crimson Tide down the road.

Patrick Surtain Jr, 4-star prospect, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Alabama would love to add the son of two-time NFL All-Pro Patrick Surtain. Surtain Jr. is rated as the nation’s No. 1 cornerback in the Class of 2018, but it’s not likely that the Tide land him.

LSU is the overwhelming favorite to land Surtain when he makes his commitment.

Jalyn Armour-Davis, 4-star prospect, Mobile, Ala.

Armour-Davis was set to announce his commitment on May 26 among his finalists of Alabama, Auburn and Florida State. He decided to push back his commitment to an unknown date in order to take more visits to those schools to be sure of his choice.

If he had chosen to go through with his commitment on May 26, he was going to choose Alabama. So, his decision to push back his commitment only hurts the Tide; however, the team remains in good shape to land the in-state star whenever he decides to make his decision.
