Since I'll be spending so much time there, I even got a place walking distance from the Bottoms Up club. Thanks for the quality advice.

I've looked into moving back. I was even checking out how cheap the condos and townhomes around Dickson are. Sadly, I can't make the money in Fayetteville that I am making in Dallas. Maybe later down the road, but not right now.

I hope your rent is cheap. That area is old apartments and warehouses.
Upside is you are convenient to the main spine of the Razorback Greenway.

I do live close, but the area is fine. Now that I've seen it in person, I definitely have to go to Bottoms Up. But that'll just be to see how bad of a train wreck it is.
Overall, it's a pretty cool small town. I'll miss Colorado, but won't miss Joe pretentious Boulder can be. Plus I've got a cousin here, and it's much closer to my old friends and family. I'm already planning on going to a few upcoming shows at George's.

Yep. That was the point. But after five years living in New Orleans, your standards change dramatically.

That was the main selling point. Plus, it's probably only a $10 Uber ride home from the bars. I came here to work and save a ton of cash for an extended vacation. I'm paying less in rent than I did with 4 roommate's in Boulder. So I'm happy as hell about that.

Check out Fossil Cove brewery if you really are in that area. They've got a nice selection on tap in their warehouse.

How long have you been here CC? Have you made your way up to Bentonville/Rogers area yet?
Also, if you lived in New Orleans and like that type of food...go down College towards Dickson and on the left is a place called Rue Orleans...great cajun food. Owners are from coon arse country, so its genuine...

I am curious about music playing opportunities. I'm a talented percussionist and drummer. I play pretty much any style. I'm probably the only bluegrass percussionist you'll ever meet, where you'd rather give me a beer to stay at the picking circle, instead of throwing my drum in the fire (though you have to have the right drum, and the answer is almost never a djembe). I'm also one of the few white guy that's played Nola Jazz Fest with Mardi Gras Indians. So versatility, and playing tastefully, is my forte.
How's the picking scene? I'd love to find a place to drink a few beers and play.

As for general roots/grass type music, Smoke & Barrel has a lot of shows. Kingfish Bar has a ton of shows, but their stage is outside, so nothing really happening there until springtime.

Always enjoy going to the Farmers Market during spring and summer and seeing the different folks playing banjo's, guitars, etc. around the square. Good times.

Just a couple times for a brief stop. I've only been here a couple of weeks, and haven't had much free time.

I bet it's good. But technically, that name with a coonass owner makes it impossible to be authentic. Though I actually prefer Cajun food over Creole. Most red jambalaya isn't very good, imo. But I haven't had gumbo in a couple years, so I'm glad to hear there's a coonass in town.

This town is bi-polar. It's gray as hell in winter, but once spring hits, its green and fun. Always something happening.

I saw something on your into thread about Dale Denton being a badass dobro player. Does he still post here? I won't be long enough here to commit to a band, but I'll lose my mind if I can't play some tunes. It's a lot more fun than listening, and a much better way to meet women. I'm good enough to have been welcomed to Appalachian picking circles, so I think the Ozark pickers will be pleasantly surprised.

I'm looking forward to it. I've always heard good things about the city. My parents lived in Camden after they just got married. So from their stories, I think I'm in the best part I'd Arkansas for my personality and interests.
