A darkhorse pick: Mullen at Miss State. He's floated his name out as a candidate elsewhere, and if they have a big drop off, that might bite him in the arse. State might figure that they are now safely a 7 win program without him, and go find a cheaper guy; maybe a hot young coordinator who could build the program more on the way up the ladder (ie a Ron Franklin type).
Dumbest think I have read yet. Fire Mullen to hire a young cheap OC, when Mullen's offenses have shattered all of our offensive records over the past 8 years.
There's only so far up the later you can build when you are going against the LSUs and Bamas of the SEC

I think some reporters think UGA had the talent to win the East this year. Losing to the Vandy, TN and Ole Miss again would not set well with UGA Fans.

I just don't get this. Freeze is the best coach we have had in a while. As long as he doesn't get fired from all of the NCAA stuff he should be fine.
I agree, barring a death penalty. It would be stupid for Ole Miss to get rid of Freeze.

No, but he did get one of the best QB prospects of the past couple years, to go along with one of the best returning teams in the country.

So you think Stidham is going to be one of the best QBs in the conference next year?

I dont think UGA is losing to Vandy again. Atlanta media defeinitely thoughy Kirby could win the East this year with the schedule being to much easier than UT's. If I recall, most thought UGA would lose to TN but would have more wins in conference to win. Nobody predicted a loss to Vandy. Preseason losses were predicted OM, UT and A toss up for UF. Most thought UF would take a step back. Consensus 9 wins regular season. Thats probably why he is on the list however unfair.

Nichols St and GT didn't help.

There's no telling what the NCAA is going to do, but I don't think the death penalty is on the table. If we were to can Freeze for any other reason than the NCAA, I'd be pissed.

Well certainly not. I really think the media did think UGA had more than a punchers chance at winning the East and they probably could have with Richt. They also took the argument that McElwain won the East with less talent than UGA had his first year so why not Kirby?
To be fair, most of my actual bulldog friends though 8 wins was more realistic and they were one short of that regular season but right on with the bowl win. Its the Atlanta medias fault.

That is a better way to put it, he could still face some harsh penalties that don't include the Death penalty but he should survive them all.

Gus's seat will get very hot very quickly next year. After that shite SHOW of a Sugar Bowl performance, especially so. AU people are pissed. Injuries happen, but the lack of creativity and the obvious lack of a plan in the bowl game is deeply concerning.
If he has a brain in his head he will fire lashlee this off season.

Do you always get this butthurt over a simple question? It's kind of odd.

Bert, Hugh, Barry, and Kirby are not on the hot seat at all.
How is Gus not on the list? Is his buyout worse than Bert's?
