The SEC has been losing the head coaching arms race for a couple of years now. The recent hires aren't helping that situation either.

Heck look at all the years since our last SECC that had absolutley nothing to do wiht saban:
06- lost 4 games
07- lost to two inferior teams
08- lost 3 games (wouldn't have gone to SECCG even if we beat bama since UF went undefeated)
09- lost 5 games
10- had a losing record
11- lost 4 games, trounced in SECCG
12- legit great season, lost to alabama for title shot
13- lost 5 games, largely due to injuries
14- lost 3 games
15- lost 3 games
Over that 10 year span, only once did saban directly hinder our chance at a title shot.

Agree completely. The fact that he is the best in the game right and has been there 10 years just makes weirdos think that people are leaving BECAUSE of saban.
Hell I'm quite sure that in Richt's 15 years here there were plenty of coaches that came and went during that time, but nobody claims richt ran them off.
It's just a dumb argument to make.

Saban has been poaching top players from Louisiana the last few years, and I think that has contributed to LSU's decline. He's pretty much killed Auburn in-state, and can take just about anyone he wants from any other surrounding states. That naturally hurts the schools from those states.
I think this a bit overblown. Bama can only recruit 25-30 players every year, there's still a substantial amount of talent available for everyone else (especially in the south). The coaching is just mediocre in the SEC right now.

Saban/Alabama are not the evil empire causing other SEC teams to lose multiple games every year. Alabama has no impact on how a HC evaluates his talent, develops the talent, prepares for games, manages his roster, hires his staff, or how a coach executes his game plan and calls plays for his team.
It is ludicrous to accuse Saban/Alabama for deficiencies with multiple SEC head coaches over the last 10 yrs.
Saban didn't bring on Meyer's health condition causing his team to lose to LSU/MSU/USCe/FSU in 2010. Saban didn't put a stubborn streak in Les Miles where he wouldn't evolve his offense for years on end. And he didn't cause Gus Malzhan to rotate QBs like an idiot in the opener vs Clemson and then go on to call numerous boneheaded plays like the twirly bird, and use his FB as a QB on 4th down in the IB.

I have no idea what to think of Arkansas. They can win this game, but they could lose by 20-30 points and it wouldn't surprise me.
Such a schizophrenic team this year.

You don't even have to get that far to begin with, the in state talent is horrible compared to the other "sec states". Not that I'm making excuses for Bert because as a college coach a big factor of your ability is how well you can recruit.

Saban hasn't/isn't running coaches off. Hell, the Alabama game is only one (1) freaking game a year. Teams like UGA/USCe/UF only play Alabama every few years anyway.
If SEC teams only had one single loss to Alabama every year then that team would be ranked in the top 10 and in playoff contention. It's not Saban's fault that other SEC teams lose multiple games outside of Alabama.
It's not Saban/Alabama's fault that Les Miles had losses to Arkansas/OM/Wisky/AU/UF/NotreDame, or that Mark Richt had losses to USCe/UF/GaTech/UT/Mizzou or that Gus Malzan has had losses to MSU/aTm/UGA/LSU/Arky/OM/Clemson over the last few years.
Say what you will, but can you find me a single example of a major conference being dominated by one team for a significant period of time and the other power programs in that conference not substantially declining during that period of dominance? Look around the country, even going back to the '70s with Alabama and Bryant. Every single time one team dominated a conference, the overall quality of that conference declined, and pretty much all of the other power programs in the conference experienced a drop-off.
Look what happened to Michigan and Penn State when Ohio State dominated the Big Ten. Look what happened to Texas and Nebraska when Oklahoma dominated the Big XII. Look what happened to Washington and UCLA when USC dominated the Pac 12. Look what happened to Clemson when Florida State joined and dominated the ACC. Look what happened to Tennessee, Auburn and LSU in the '70s when Alabama dominated the SEC.
Find me one example in a major conference where one team became clearly dominant for a few years and the other powerhouse(s) in that conference kept on being just as good as they were before.

what in the holy frick does how good Bama is have anything to do with how bad your team sucks? If that was the case at all, wouldn't you only have 1 loss and still be a powerhouse? Damn you L6U fans will find some way to blame Bama.
"The SEC sucks arse because Bama is too good."
See how stupid that sounds.

They don't give a shite how it sounds. They have to have someone else to blame if their program can't field a competitive product. Rather than step their fricking game up and beating every team they play, they'd rathe blame Alabama and Saban for their deficiencies.
Dont fricking lose to Wisconsin in your opener, don't screw around and frick up the last seconds at AU, don't go completely scoreless vs Bama, and run the correct play in the final seconds of the damn UF game and your team would likely be sitting in the semi final playoffs this weekend.

It's a simple fact that has been demonstrated in every major conference every time one team has dominated it. In every single case, going back 40 years, the other top teams in that conference always declined.
As for "blaming" Alabama, there's nothing to blame them for. They have a right to be as good as they can be. They owe no obligation to keep the conference as a whole strong, and if other programs can't keep up, that's their (the other programs') problem.
