Coach O has to prove it. He says that he has improved or learned alot since Ole Miss. Let's see if he can back it up.

Yes. Did decently as interim at both USC and at LSU. Yes, he had better talent at both places than at Ole Miss, but it wasn't as if the cupboard was bare at Ole Miss.

In addition, there are several example of coaches who have done better after screwing it up the first time (Gene Stallings for one). Bill Belicheck. Not saying Coach Yaw Yaw is equivalent to them, but it's possible for someone to learn from past mistakes. Plus he was hired as a HC by Ole Miss before he had even been a coordinator, so he was not ready for that.

Well, the usual idiots say no way. Some other posters say maybe and yes. So, maybe this thread wasn't a complete wash.

The real question is if we'll be graced with another one of these:

I don't know, but try this analogy, sit back, and go hmmm: Bill Curry as Bama HC had them ranked number two in nation his third year before losing to natty champ Miami, and Mike Dubose had them ranked in top ten and won a SEC title.

I have serious doubts he will ever win something significant at LSU...and/or maintain a top 25 program over time... but as far as the question yes he is a better coach than before.
