Just we are all clear: all the students in ALL ROTC programs are FAKE unless they take a commission. And while you didn't actually call them "degenerate, one could easily draw that conclusion from your disdainful comments about our "obsession " with the military. Again, just so we are all clear. And because of this, TAMU doesn't "fit" in the SEC.
Comfortable you are, indeed.

Yeah, and you guys have male cheerleaders. If that's not backwards, I don't know what
Coming from a fan of a school with twelve male cheerleaders.

A couple. But the rest of the schools also have female cheerleaders...because they aren't gay
So if Arkansas having 7 more male cheerleaders makes TAMU "gay" then I don't know what to tell you.
No one is trying to censor you, but I am waiting for an explanation for the twelve male cheerleaders on the Arkansas cheerleading squad. And I also wanted to know if they are all gay, since having male cheerleaders has to be "gay," right?
If you actually graduated from The University of Arkansas, then they must really be proud of you.

I'd say they are all fake UNTIL they take a commission.
You know, until they are actually in the military.

No, we get it.
I'm sure there are tens of thousands of alumni from other SEC schools that participated in their fine ROTC programs, and didn't take a commission that totally have your back.

No one is claiming the corps is a branch of the military. How could people in the corps then be considered "fake"?
frick you for making me defend the corps.

Don't really care about their opinion. Hell, I knew one or two guys that were in ROTC at my school. Just no one ever really paid attention to them like they do at A&M.

They don't claim to be a branch of the military, but they act like they are.

Do you realize that the corps is something like 5% of the student body?

how?
As opposed to acting like they are in the corps/rotc?

I do realize it's a small portion of the student body, however, it seems like they get put on a pedestal by the school/media. The band kind of reinforces that as well.

Why don't you answer my questions?

Many were commissioned with me. Many wanted to receive a commission but couldn't because of injury or illness. Many served in the reserve and guard components at the same time and chose to finish out or continue in that capacity rather than take a commission.
In other words, there are a few more factors to consider. I know what you are trying to do, but in your attempt to flame and troll a bit, you are actually being a bit insulting to a fair number of service men and women and showing yourself you be incredibly ignorant.

ESPN loves sticking cameras in the sections at Kyle field where the corps sits together, for some reason. The band has the same uniforms they've had for a long time. Are you suggesting typical goofy-arse college band costumes are better?
most of a&m's older big money donors graduated when corps attendance was mandatory. Does the school push the corps, considering their size relative to the student body? Probably. But what does that have to do with them being "fake military"?

What's your school? Is it The Citadel? VMI? Virginia Tech? Or North Georgia? Norwich University?
If it isn't one of those, then it isn't a SMC. Do all of those schools equally irritate you because of their "fake" military?

I don't really like any college marching band and would rather get rid of them, however, the initial question was what makes Texas A&M a bad fit. The ROTC is a big reason, so is the fact that they are so far away from any other school.

The south has much better small towns.
The cities in Texas blow away any city in the south.
Texas has more opportunity.
