Well I know I'm pissed. I want to hear Boz's take on this. I don't give a shite if Hurts doesn't know all 250 pages of the playbook. Our scheme didn't win us 4 nattys, our talent did. You might can make that argument on defense but on offense, Saban will keep it as vanilla as he can. So why not start the most talented guy? frick Bateman, the guy won't run when he should and can't run the entire offense because he doesn't have the arm to. Yeah, this board is going to lose their shite when Bateman and the offense stalls out so they bring in BB8 and he promptly shits his pants and throws a pick 6. Do you blame them? Meanwhile, the most talented guy who by all accounts won over the team is standing on the sidelines carrying a clipboard. What do you think that will do for the teams' psyche? You do the smart thing and water down the offense for the stud kid and gradually feed him more over the season as he digests it. Go ahead, flame away, Saban is God and never fricks up. He never changes his stubborn arse ways either, even when he gets shown up. The guy is one of the top football coaches ever but he does have blind spots and QB play has always been one of them. He never plays the young guys, even in blowouts then he says he can't start the most talented guy because of inexperience. DUH!! Rant over.

And if Saban trotted a true freshman out there and lost the game when he threw two pick sixes because he didn't recognize the coverages, you'd all be happy, I'm sure. Let's throw away a TEAM full of talent so that we can get the dynamic QB in there before he's ready. When Saban stops winning NC's at an unprecedented rate, then you can criticize his methods.
