Pressure from his family, dad specifically about his playing time. He wasn't named the starter although had a shot at it. Bottom Line really.

There is a linebacker in this recruiting cycle, and I believe, his dad is going to cause problems like Sheffield's. I hope he commits elsewhere. If the freshman Dbs are as impressive as the reports I've read, then depth won't be an issue. I just wish that Nigel Knot was healthy.
Boz, thanks for all your info.

No problem, and yeah family interference is becoming a big problem. His dad was really hung up on him being "named" the starter. Who cares? It's not a signed contract.

I wonder what LB recruit you could be talking about, lol. He won't be coming to Bama.

I can personally vouch for everything Boz posts on this board to be true. He types exactly what I tell him.

Boz= daTruth!
Bateman didn't lose us the Ole Miss game but he didn't exactly move the team either. If Saban says Cooper is the Man, then he's the Man and I'll be fine with that. But it's hard not to get excited about a true freshman coming in and wowing both fans and coaches with his obvious skills. I'm sure if he gets the nod there will be growing pains and moments when we say WTF were you thinking?? But there will also be moments when you just grin, shake your head, high five your buddy and say "Wow!" How many of those do you think Bateman would provide? I'm sorry to say, I don't think many.

You're silly if you wouldn't take Dylan Moses. Let's not pretend he was ever going to come here anyway though. Kid has been in the spotlight since he was 15- if his father wasn't heavily involved up to this point then I'd have to question the head on his dad's shoulders.
The only thing differentiating Dylan from a lot of other recruits is that his dad posted on tigerdroppings for a while. He's an LSU fan and was long before Dylan became a hot shot recruit, that's obviously going to spill over into his posts. Personally I'd be thrilled to land Moses. He's a good linebacker and the melt would be the best since Landon Collins, but it's not happening. Good luck to him at LSU, no sense in us being petty about it, we'll be just fine at linebacker

I was admittedly leaning towards Jalen Hurts to win the QB job, then I read that article above about him being like Russell Wilson!
I have my fingers crossed that he tears it up on Saturday!

Del Rio will make the Gators dangerous. UT better not book those Atlanta rooms just yet

Yea, they seem to be a highly "enlightened" bunch

Alabama continued its practice schedule Thursday afternoon with its 17th fall practice and second since school started back. The Crimson Tide practiced indoors and in full pads on a mostly-sunny, 91-degree afternoon.
Here are several tidbits from the media viewing portion of Alabama's Thursday practice session in Tuscaloosa:
- Alabama appeared to try something new during its dime drill today with linebacker Rashaan Evans seeing some reps at Money. He shadowed Ronnie Harrison, who played the position a season ago, with the first group.
- The rest of the first-team dime package appeared to be made up of Marlon Humphrey and Anthony Averett at corner, Eddie Jackson and Laurence Jones at safety, Minkah Fitzpatrick at Star and Reuben Foster at Mack.
- The second dime group was comprised of Jared Mayden (with Aaron Robinson shadowing) and Tony Brown at corner, Deionte Thompson and Trevon Diggs at safety, Shyheim Carter at Star, a combination of Jones, Keaton Anderson and Lyndell Wilson, with the younger players shadowing the older Jones, at Money and Shaun Hamilton at Mack.
- There was no sign of inside linebacker Keith Holcombe again in the two media viewing periods.
- Players wearing black, no-contact jerseys were: Richie Petitbon (knee), Ronnie Clark (Achilles) and Nigel Knott (knee). Dalvin Tomlinson (ankle) and Derrick Gore (knee) also wore black, but they were in full pads.
- The quarterback line remained unchanged, but newly-added walk-on Josh Palet served as the scout-team quarterback while the others threw with the wide receivers and tight ends. As if to make the competition even closer, the trio of Cooper Bateman, Blake Barnett and Jalen Hurts each made some nice throws and some not-so-nice throws in the viewing periods.
*** What’s next: Alabama will be back on the practice field Friday at 3:30 p.m. CT for its final tuneup before its second fall scrimmage at Bryant-Denny Stadium (Saturday at 1 p.m. CT).

Anyone know what's up with Holcombe? I know he has a health issue, but that hasn't kept him out this much in the past.

Is there a scrimmage next week also?
