Obviously in for Bama
Only south car (clemson), UGA (tech), florida (fsu) and and a&m (texas) are out of conference. There are rivalries and then in- state rivalries. Regardless of conference those in state games are 10 times more intense than any other. U have to live with those arseholez. Me and my mother Bama, my dad and sister are cow humpers. We don't even speak on that one day.

I feel like we have 4 games on the schedule now that are pretty heated each and every year. We don't need an OOC rival.

That's natural, I think. CFB is so chock full of passion and emotions and the average college fan is so much more invested than the average NFL fan, in my opinion. Sure, there are some wildly enthusiastic and die-hard NFL fans but overall the pros can't come close to matching the raw emotions that the college ranks elicit from us.
Part of that is hating (or at least disliking) anyone who isn't you! I don't "like" any college team besides UF, and I expect that won't change until I have children who may choose to attend some other school than I did. But the Gators will ALWAYS come first!
Right on, man!

I mean, I'd say at this point every season Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and aTm (so I guess 5 when I orig. said 4) get pretty heated for the actual fan bases. Obviously if we weren't in the SEC anymore we'd play maybe 1 of those each year.

quote:I see our game as more of a manufactured rivalry than anything. I don't feel like there's a large amount of hatred between the two teams and fanbases, relatively speaking of course. We just happen to be two of the strongest SEC programs in opposite divisions who play each other every year. But rivals? No, I don't think so.

Though if we could just learn how to stop a fricking fake field goal!!!!
ETA: This isn't a knock on or meant as disrespect for LSU in any way. I have a lot of respect for your team, program, and fans. You've got some of the most friendly fans I've seen on any SEC road trip I've taken. Always willing to share your (delicious) food and talk some football while we get hammered before the game. I sort of wish Gator fans were better represented on this board, but tRant has always been an SEC West focused forum, so it's pretty much all LSU/Bama, all the time. We can all agree though that it's heaps of fun to mock the Black Bears now that their chickens are finally coming home to roost.

Obviously in conference it's Mississippi State then LSU. Tennessee fans online have a strong hate for Ole Miss for whatever reason.
OOC i would say the Arkansas rivalry has gained some momentum especially after last year

Still the LSU is heating up pretty solidly.
A&M has zero wins vs LSU in the last 21 years. Yeah, this forced rilvalry is on FIRE.

Thats not true of all UGA fans. The rivaly and the level of hate really depends on where your from.
There is not much of a discussion that the top 3 are GT, AU, and UF. But the 1-3 changes based on where you live in the state , if you live in south Ga it's all about WLOCP, if your north of Macon through Atlanta , COFH. But if your unlucky enough to live in that western side of the state DSOR is what matters the most.
Also, we have 2 other annual games that you really have to consider rivalries, however not playing them annually would not really matter. USC and UT, and where as I like to beat them , they are not as important to me personally. But if you live in North Ga above Metro Atlanta it's all about Big Orange and if you hang out around Augusta National, you HATE the chickens from Columbia.

we want to beat bama and lsu
but the arkansas texas game just has a different feel to it all together. shite gets real.
think about this lol. arkansas hates texas so much, that when kids go out of state, UT isn't ever even in consideration. a kid that leaves the state to go to texas might as well be a dead man walking lol
plus a lot of players on our team are from texas.

"SEC teams wishing they had a rival:
LSU"
Way wrong. To have a 'rival', you would have to give a shite about the other team. I'm an LSU fan. There are no fricks given about other teams in or out of the conference. Let Auburn beat you guys and Sid will be on a ledge. When we lose, we blame Les (usually rightfully so), or the refs (ditto), or we just say we were outplayed (it happens), or dumb luck ( which also happens). Any which way you look at it, it is about LSU for us. Consider yourself educated.

Not really. A&M hasn't won against us yet so it can't really be a rivalry.

You can pretend all you want, but the way you and 99% of the fanbase acts when A&M comes up just shouts "I fricking care".

Yeah based on this board LSU/A&M is most certainly a rivalry.

Florida is just as big, maybe bigger
Tech is still huge as a rival, but anymore, it's not as important as TWLOCP
