Does Alabama resort to more zone read this year?

You could tell Jake Coker was not fit to run the offense. Lane is loading up on dual threat QBs lately (Tua Tagavoiloa, Blake Barnett etc.) and all signs point to a QB with speed and athleticism. But it begs the question.....does that mean more Auburn-ish plays? Or is it the same, what I like to call, spread smash that Alabama ran this past year?

Auburn runs a power spread offense that gets vertical with the pass.
Alabama runs the jet sweep, read option, reverses, etc, just like Auburn already.

I don't think so. It's just out of the realm of what we do. This plus it just doesn't seem like Kiffin or Saban's style.

Auburn has a methodical offense with good options. With Alabama's players, it could be unstoppable.

Bama will never run an Auburn type offense. Remember that Nick says the risk of injury is too great and it is dangerous for the players.

Whether anyone likes you acknowledge it, Alabama has run the HUNH offense with some of the same plays Auburn runs on a weekly basis.

Triple option with Ardarius Stewart (high school QB) running the show. Prepare thy angus

A ton of schools run some version of the read option and if Bama has some decent dual threat QBs it would be stupid to not show it a few times a game at least.

Pretty sure he said it increases the risk of injury on defense. It just means Auburn won't have to fake an injury anymore.

I think it is more likely the OP is not fit to evaluate offenses.

Inevitable. We won't look like Tennessee though.

i agree, it will resemble the power spread that Auburn and Ohio State run as opposed to an Oregon style, very much power football except defenses cannot pursue and Defensive ends cannot make backside tackles because of the potential of the quarterback keeping.

SEC Defenses have sucked as a whole the last few years.

Some have been middling, some have been just really shitty regularly ranking up in the 80"s and 90's among some of the worst in the country. But on the other hand, some of the SEC defenses are among the best in the country.

Yes. Especially if Bateman wins the job. Dude can move pretty well. Him not keeping the ball and running vs ole miss on zone reads is a big reason he was pulled from that game.

I'd put Reuben Foster at fullback and Scarbrough at tail back and run it right off Cam Robinson's arse every snap.
