Saban by a mile!
I really don't dislike USC (believe it or not), but their teams from the Pete Carroll era and everyone's treatment of them always got on my nerves. On the one hand, we were constantly force fed the propaganda that Pete was this coaching mastermind who was way smarter than everyone else on the planet. On the other, we had to endure everyone insisting almost all of their players were vastly superior to anyone on any other team (as in, their 4th stringers would soon be NFL all stars).
Yes, Pete Carroll is a very, very good coach, and, yes, USC had some incredibly great players, but let's pump the brakes a bit. For a team to supposedly have BOTH the best coach in the history of football as well as the best talent ever assembled, they certainly didn't live up to the hype.

It is impossible to take Saban in this argument. Equal college success while Pete blows the doors off Saban in the NFL

How much credit does Carroll get for creating a lack of institutional control by opening up Hollywood to their campus to create a rock star atmosphere for recruiting.
Is this why Cowherd thinks Bama is a "boring" dynasty? I don't get what he is talking about? because Bama doesn't have Snoop Dog on the sidelines? not Hollywood enough?

By equal college success I assume you mean more than twice as many natty titles and more conference titles then yes they are equal

you waited 3 and a half years for this?
Honestly, what was it about this thread that made you take the plunge?

You forgot one major detail in your comparison.
Pete Carrol has one NCAA investigation that resulted in bowl ban, scholarship losses, and a forfeited Title.
Nick has none

Alabama's dynasty under Saban is 2007-2016 "BORING" compared to USC's under Pete Carroll 2001-2009.
4 NC's vs 1 ? Bore me to tears and pour me a glass or two of Mtn Dew to keep me up.
What Saban has done does somewhat resemble a collegiate dynasty in Los Angeles: UCLA's basketball run from 1964-1975. They're not there yet but Southern Cal football under Petey really isn't close except for the media fawning from '03-'06.

Cowherd is just pandering to the plethora of football fans outside of the SEC that have been beat into submission over the past 10 or so years.
I'm sure those fans cry masturbate themselves to sleep after watching his BS show.

2003: LSU
2004: USC (vacated)
2005: Texas
Yup. Hell of a dynasty.

Carrolls' players only have 2 Heismans. Reggies' doesn't count.
Saban also has 2.
And as far as NCs well Saban has 5, that count.
Pete has how many? Oh my....

USC dynasty would have been comparable to Bama had the Trojans won the 2006 Rose Bowl. It would have been a third straight AP title which was/is unprecedented.
The AP titles from 2003 and 2004 still stand. The NCAA vacating nonsense is a rubber stamp and means absolutely nothing.

Well, its not like a point-shaving scandal which shut their program down for 5 years.

No, it wouldn't. Bama has 4 legit, unquestioned, and undisputed titles in 7 years. In your example USC would have 2 in 8 years (not sure why 8 years was picked as the time frame in OP).

cool, and 03 is irreleavnt. It means as much as the dunkleman index, the colley matrix, or sagarain's ratings. Which is to say...nothing. It was merely a part of the BCS whole.

Their 03 "title" means nothing.
