I don't know either...but to the OPs point. Would the G-league see a positive return by signing a 1 year 500k kid?

I think it has to be subsidized by the NBA or a specific NBA team to make it worth it.

ETA some info on the G-league contracts. Looks like it's an NBA thing and really has nothing to do with the G-league teams themselves.
