This is typical self-imposed AU drama. The fact that other implicated schools have gone about their mess without much controversy or publicity shows how fricking shortsighted and petty these idiots are.
Well, to be fair, those other programs aren't dealing with a giant mess in their AD, which has complicated things a little more.

I don't think that is a valid excuse. We hired a very expensive law firm to handle this for us, there is no excuse for this not to be effectively handled. We are paying for the privilege of self imposed tanking

But it appears we are to busy setting people up for failure and sabotaging careers just to "make a point" that no one in the fan base gives a shite about. When players are being sat and info is being leaked to ESPN just to take down your own coach, it is complete ineptitude.

So Leath is supposedly showing up to Barkleys statue unveiling Saturday
That should be interesting. Especially since I imagine Barkley supports Pearl once again

I get if Bruce is involved then that's cause to fire him. If he's not why the hell would you want to? I mean we haven't been super successful yet, but people enjoy basketball now and he's brought a spark to the program. I don't see why the AD would want to mess that up.
I guess my answer to that would be that Auburn hired Pearl while he was still under NCAA SHOW-CAUSE. With Auburn's extremely poor basketball history he could have probably gotten away with just about anything but one thing: fricking up the program and bringing nation-wide negative attention to it.
Now you might say "But it wasn't Bruce! It was Chuck Person!"
Maybe. Even probably.
But we sure as hell don't know that at this point because Bruce won't talk or cooperate. Yeah, he's within his rights to do that, sure. But, after scandal, if you're a previous show-cause coach and your answer is "I plead the Fifth!", whether innocent or guilty your employers ain't gonna be happy.
Plus, he's the head coach. Whether he was clueless about Person or not, he's responsible.

i plan to be there to see that
man, speaking of that...made me think of when they showed Jay Jacobs on the field and announced him at the Georgia game. It was so awkward and cringey when he received a mix of claps and groans.

Those responses are a bit bitchy.

Based on the rumors that Leath wants to clean out the AD and information leaked to ESPN, I’m not sure this investigation is being done without an agenda. I think it’s fairly obvious that Bruce doesn’t trust them nor should he if any of these rumors are true.

I don't people have a problem w this. It just is baffling as to why immediate termination didn't happen if this is AU's stance
No other school is having this problem, and I have a hard time believing Bruce is the only coach refusing to cooperate 100% while FBI investigation is ongoing
Hell there is nothing I can find talking about other HCs being interviewed by investigation

Maybe.
My question is what kind of e-mail was Leath responding to? The original e-mails to which Leath responded have been conveniently not mentioned or posted.
I'm willing to bet that they weren't in the line of "Dear Distinguished President Leath: May I beg to bring to your attention, kind sir, a question of my concern... " kind of e-mails.

Not sure that is a good excuse for a university president responding in that way just because someone hurt his feelings
Not that hard to have a template response to send out like a normal professional.
For the worst just ignore that shite

That would be the best option, yes.
Or a damn form letter.
But I've always been firmly of the belief that if you want to snark or be sarcastic or rude in a comment (or e-mail in this case), you sure as hell shouldn't expect courtesy in return. No matter who you are.

Just because people deserve an a-hole response, doesn't mean the president of Auburn should be sending it out
Posted on 11/21/17 at 5:42 pm to GenesChin
I already agreed with you on that.
My response was toward the point that the guy who got the response is acting all insulted about it.
AU alum: frick YOU PRESIDENT LEATH!
Leath: WELL frick YOU TOO!
AU alum: Well... I never! That was just rude!

Lets just go ahead and admit it. We hired a snake oil salesman, he has recruited well, said all the right things, sold out the arean, but the product on the court is still dog shite. Now he wont cooperate with a internal investigation. At any large corporation if you did that your arse would be toast. I am sure that is the way Leath sees it.

You didn’t read much did you? Read what applies to government employees.

I find it hard to think the University would suspend two staff members, one of which is an African American on shaky gorund and open themself to litigation. Which is why I think there is more to this mess. That might be the reason Bruce gets canned so we dont get in to much shite with the NCAA.
