Our OL is going to struggle this year.

On the HerbHand/RichRod influence subject though, I'd be on board for a JF3 triple optionesque offense.
I just don't know if JF3 is up to it. Thats hard for a QB
Especially when said QB is on the sidelines watching our Great White Hope lead the offense down the field.

I'm not worried about our bet. After A day, I don't think we get to 8+ wins regardless of who is QB given our schedule

Just to fumble it away in the red zone

Our OL will be a lot better than most people on here think. We have a solid top 7.

No way with losing both of our OTs.

The thing you have to take into account is that we aren't running a balanced, pro-style offense. We're running the ball 70-75% of the time. We're not usually leaving our tackles on an island in the passing game in obvious passing situation w/ stud pass rushers. Golson (if he's our LT) is just fine as a run blocker and same with Leff (if he's our RT....could be James of course). With more reps, it's reasonable that both could even improve at their respective positions and be okay at pass blocking but again, we aren't passing a ton anyways so it's not the biggest liability in the world. We're very very good up the middle of the OL so I'm fine there.

I'm a much higher on Pettway as a blocker than Cox. He is a road grater
That said, as far as missing blocks go, Prosch had the same issue early in 2013. I'm hoping Cox can figure it out. He still isn't as bad as 2014 Brandon Fulse
you hit it dead on with this post. Cox is so valuable because he is a good blocker (when he engages) but he's so versatile. He is much faster than most think and has good hands. Pettway is just a horse and loves contact. He's basically a mix of Eric smith and Prosch.

Fair enough.

I don't see the 288 pound RT as "just fine." Either way, having two "just fine" OTs in a run heavy offense isn't reassuring

We are very good at OG. Xavier Dampeer is a huge wildcard and could be a weak link that hurts the interior blocking

Aside from throwing change ups to the QB (which apparently has been fixed and was pretty easy to fix) I think he was really good last year. He seems more physical than Golson was at Center. Maybe not more physical, maybe he is just a stronger human being than Golson? Either way he seems to be better at moving people. That damn change-up snap was killing me last year though.

The number 1 job of a center is to snap the ball. That is why on special teams, where you can't hit the snapper it is always a little guy.

In which games did he impress you in?
Before answering, realize that he missed more than half the season due to his incident with Duke (happened before the UK game). Somehow this board came to think he was playing when Golson got injured.
