Devaore Lawrence doesn't have the weight to play NT. He is only like 295

Only?! Everyone can't be Vince Wilfork. If his technique is right, and he is strong enough, I could def. see DL having great impact in the middle

Why in God's name would we make our quickest twitch DT with the best ability to slide between blocks, a block eater?

Switch Lawrence and Adams. Adams is bigger and actually showed the ability to 2-gap last season at times.

In reality, we don't have a DT that is experienced that seems like a good fit as a Nose. Jauntavius Johnson is the most likely to be a good fit for that position.

Probably not. I was just theorizing. Didn't mean for that to spark bickering

Most likely you are going to see most of the same looks as last season with 3 set down lineman and a Buck/Bandit position that we move around. Steele ran 4-3 under in his previous stops as DC. Also will probably be in nickel the majority of the time.

I was just theorizing about how for the first time I actually think we could run a 3-4 with the tweener talent we have in guys like Lawson, James & Holland. We don't really have a NG for it tho

I like the group of guys we have. Not sure we're deep enough to make a run at something special or if our QB situation will allow us but I think I'm going to like this team

Agreed

So what makes you say we're not deep enough to make a run? We're as deep on both sides of the ball as we've been since Tubbs left. We may not be deep at LB but we're talented in the starting group (Holland, Williams, Neal) and we have to find a #2 corner. But lets be real there isn't a team in the land that doesn't have some concerns about newbies at some positions (including Bama).

I do agree on the QB part.

Sure, but we also have some legit concerns about player development to boot

Though I agree we have talent in there, we dont have good depth at most positions

1 - WR - Lots of talent. Very few receptions

2- QB - LOL

3 - RB - If Robinson gets hurt, we could be in trouble

4 - Corner - No depth at all.

5 - DL - About as good as it gets. Were good

6 - LB - Crickets

7 - Play Calling - We are three plays deep

do we? Last time I checked we've put about as many players on active NFL rosters as anyone since Malzahn has taken over. It may not have translated to wins, but there's a ton of variables that go into wins (play calling, poor QB play, snapping the ball when the QB isn't looking Dismukes, etc.). I think we're doing just fine with developing guys to become NFL caliber players....what we have to do is figure out how to get wins out of that development.

I disagree. Wouldn't be ideal, but I think we'd be fine with Roc and Kerryon toting the rock. They're both very talented, but we certainly wouldn't have much depth but rarely do teams go 4 deep with equal talent.

Hard to say there's no depth. We don't know what we have. We've signed some very good corners the past 2 classes.

6 - LB - Crickets

Holland, Williams, Neal, Darrell Williams, D Davis, McBryde, Atkinson....all basically playing only 2 spots most of the time since we're mainly in nickel. I'm totally fine with that. We're very talented in the starting group.

Agree on playcalling. That has to improve, period. Hopefully Gus has his mojo back. He seems like a different guy right now.

We have a ton of special team monsters, back ups, and Cam Newton. Proud of them, but let's not act like Auburn players from the past 4 years are dotting starting lineups each and everywhere we look. We're both smarter than that

Neither of those guys are every down backs. I have zero confidence in Roc what so ever. All dat spinning yo...

6 - LB - Very talented. Great pick up from Illinois

7 - Play Calling - Great between the 20s, shittastic in the RZ
