Libertarian students at the University of South Carolina are suing the institution for interrogating them over a free speech display. Other students accused them of posting "triggering" material, prompting a formal investigation.
Even though administrators had approved the display, Abbott was still given official notice that he was being investigated for discrimination. He was eventually called before the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs and made to answer for each and every poster he had displayed. Thankfully, the matter was quietly dropped afterward.
But that's not quite good enough. Since the university did not respond to Abbott's request to have the complaint expunged from his academic record—and because USC gave no indication that it understood Abbott's speech was constitutionally protected—he has filed suit.
I hope he bankrupts South Carolina. This is ridiculous.

Abbott's expressions of free speech are governed by USC while he is a student at the school.

This is more political than sports. With that said it is obvious what is happening:
A one point conservatives had a monopoly on people who were authoritarians. Most of those people assumed the mantle of "social conservative." What we are seeing is a rise of leftist authoritarians.

I don't think this is even remotely the same thing as the situation at Mizzou.

No, it's not comparable. Nobody cares about this whiny SJW bullshite until a football team strikes.
This won't even be a story, just as ours wouldn't have been if it would have been handled correctly.

South Carolina actually has students who identify as "Libertarian",, first that's praiseworthy in itself.
Of course the use of "trigger words" that send the special snowflakes fleeing for safe spaces will not be limited to a few campuses, this is a symptom of "higher education" and is at any campus USA near you.

Yep.
I imagine this guy and I are very far apart in our political beliefs but based on the information presented, I support him 100% in his case.
You'll find no greater place that restricts free speech than a college campus - and yet they'll be proclaiming themselves as a beacon of freedom while they trample those rights.
