I might not impress you that much

But me treating you to dinner or lunch with a coors light or iced tea is always an open ended invitation Boxer

And Happy upcoming birthday in case I miss it

I'm really happy with this considering I really had to grind it out after running 10k yesterday

My goal this summer is to lose weight, gain some muscle, and be able to run around the track that is here near where I live. I believe 4 times around the track is 1 mile...I have about 30 lbs to lose.

Is this a good workout?

Push ups
body-weight squats
plank
dumbbell rows

Along with walking and jumping jacks.

30

170 lbs...which, I am only 5 foot tall, so obese for my height.

The workout looks great to start.

Planking is one of the first things I started with, look up the 30 day planking challenge. I also started with just walk/jogging on the treadmill, different speeds but no matter what I wanted to hit an hour if possible

But the weight didn't really start to fall off until I hit the trail running. But I would have never gotten to that without easing myself in. I am a bit older and was way out of shape

Post your workouts and successes here so we can celebrate with you and encourage you

Any of you guys work on a rowing machine? I have plantar fasciitis in both of my feet bad enough that surgery is my next option. No more running for me, likely ever. I have started changing my diet to no refined sugars, bread/pastas and very low dairy with the hopes that some weight lose will take some of the pressure off the feet.

I have read that a rowing machine burns as many or more calories as most exercises and I enjoy it. Any extra advice from yall to help losing some weight? 31 year old, 6'0, started at 255. Already down to around 246 after a few weeks.

i've used one before. i'm not sure about all the claims, but it's sure as hell harder to breathe.

i'm really not in good enough shape to use one anymore as i do good just to finish 30min on a treadmill.

Hey, congrats on starting the journey, and the progress you have already made.

While rowing is certainly a good option for adding in the rotation, I don't think it is best for doing cardio daily. Now if you aren't lifting any weights at all, then that is different. If you are lifting, then is swimming or cycling an option for you?? Both are really good cardio exercises that you can do steady state, or high intensity workouts on.

Losing lbs will definitely help with the foot issues. Try a huge bowl of oatmeal for breakfast each day. You'll be shocked at how it lowers your appetite at lunchtime
