Someone explain to me how a guy can "enroll early" in February? Hasn't the deadline for drop/add passed already? Does he do independent study/online classes for the spring? I've seen multiple instances where this is supposedly happening, most lately Mac Jones.

There are two Spring semesters now. One starts in early January. The other in mid February.

Classes start for Spring 2 on Feb 13. Spring 2 is a shorter term and gives students more options for classes.

There is a "Spring 2" semester that starts halfway through the regular spring semester. It has a compressed schedule similar to summer semesters.
