Get to know: Auburn offensive guard signee Nick Brahms (247)
quote:

What you need to know: Brahms, who enrolled at Auburn in January, had such a strong junior season, he was named a U.S. Army All-American. But last August, Brahms sustained a broken fibula, also known as the calf bone, in his right leg. That caused him to miss his entire senior campaign. The good news: He’s should be 100 percent by the start of spring practice.

Will they play in 2017? Auburn is fairly deep on the inside of the offensive line, but because Brahms can play guard or center there’s a chance he could see action. That versatility is one of the things the Tigers like most about him. That said, a redshirt wouldn’t be a total shock.

Get to know: Auburn cornerback signee Malcolm Askew (247)
quote:

What you need to know: Askew is only 5 feet, 10.5 inches and 183 pounds, but he was one of the best all-around football players in the state of Alabama for the 2017 season. At McAdory High (Bo Jackson’s alma mater), he started at quarterback — and played defensive back. Because of his size and running ability, the Auburn staff projects the January enrollee at cornerback and is optimistic his game will grow as he concentrates on one side of the ball.

Will they play in 2017? Askew not only will participate in spring ball, but took part in some bowl practices in December. Auburn has several quality defensive backs returning, but if Askew can handle the physicality of the game (he still needs to get a little stronger), he very well could see the field this fall.
