Not every school participates in every sport, for instance wrestling, mens soccer, lacrosse, etc...

Technically, Equestrian is an "emerging sport" and not an official sport via the NCAA. Rugby and Triathlon are also on this list. Equestrian was actually recommended for elimination due to lack of participating schools.

Equestrian was sanctioned by the SEC, so yes it is an official sport.
If you are going to nitpick, you need to take out football since its not a NCAA national champion

Looks like Tenner out of the Big-6 all-around status, Aggie claiming the spot...

It's just yet another sport dominated by the SEC
ETA: Seriously, every school with a NC in Equestrian is in the SEC.

Can we count the NIT we won in 2006?

It isn't by the NCAA, though. It is in a trial period.
I don't really care either way. There are literally 18 schools that participate in it though, which does make it a bit different than other sports. The only sport that is close to that small a number of participants is Men's Water Polo, which has 22 schools. But is is a full NCAA sport per the NCAA.
Either way, whatever, don't care how it is counted.

Should we actually count indoor T&F? Outdoor is where its at.

I'm not nitpicking, I included it in the overall count.

LSU has a pretty damn good shot at winning it all in softball and men's golf this year. Women's tennis just signed the #1 class. Gymnastics is now elite. track and baseball will always be in contention. we stacked, baws.

Florida can say this about pretty much every sport, 4-5 others can say this about half their sports, 4-5 others about a handful of sports and then the Mississippi schools and Missouri are left holding the bag at the bottom.

LSU is either really damn good at the sport or a huge dropoff. women's basketball, soccer, and volleyball are a mess. Everything else is in contention

Bowling (since 2004 - 34 D1 members) and Rifle (since 1980 - 31 D1 members) are NCAA sanctioned sports, Equestrian is a NCAA Emerging Sport (18 D1 members).

look this isn't an anti-Auburn thing
I just.... think that we're stretching the difference between official sports and club sports
Equestrian Bass Fishing Bowling and Rifle ...shooting?
whatever
I don't count that stuff I'm sorry if that ruffles horse people's feathers but fancy horse riding should not be put in the same category as a team sport like football, basketball, baseball/softball, Volleyball, hell rowing

I like that SC is competitive in most sports, but in my opinion we could still do better in some.
Basketball is obviously getting better, men and women's. Our women will probably win a national championship next year or the year after.
We could be much more competitive in track and field. Our women won an outdoor title in '02, so it's possible. That should've been the beginning of something more. The SEC is so stacked in T&F though that I don't know if we'll ever be elite in the sport.
Softball is getting better, but again, the SEC is elite in that sport as well. Ironically, Softball is probably the SEC's best sport.
Men and Women's soccer/golf are all getting better. I'm expecting big things from our golf program in the next few years. We were really close and ranked top 5/10 in both for much of last year.
I'm not even sure if Swimming and diving is competitive at SC. We can start by giving our team's a better facility. The Blatt is not up to standard.
I wonder what's going to happen with equestrian at SC if more schools continue to drop the sport. The SEC sanctioned it a few years ago, which was huge but if the sport loses it's emerging sport status then that could lead to another flurry of schools dropping it. If that happens and SC eventually has to drop it then I wonder which women's sport SC will pick up. We recently were the first school in conference to add Beach Volleyball, do we continue the trend of adding new sports to the conference or do we finally add gymnastics?

I mean, they aren't club sports. They are NCAA sanctioned sports.
I agree that when less than 40 schools compete it seems a bit silly to include it with some of the others, but they are NCAA sports.
