Also both OLBs (Lee and Devall)...although their replacements got a lot of playing time this year (Williams, Anderson, Evans)...also losing a safety (Mattias-Smith)...guessing Harrison might replace him and he had a good bit of experience as well...

I think we upgrade talent at QB

I think we can mange a return to our norm for Rb production.
quote:Henry is your biggest loss. You're taking for granted the automatic conversions on 3rd and 4/less.
The worse lose is Kelly and he will not be easy to replace.
Bama has Saban and Saban is gonna win 10 games at a min. But I just don't see the offense getting better this year. The front 7 is going to take a dip, but your secondary could be great if they don't miss Mel Tucker too much.

quote:No. Auburn needs ridiculous production out of their QB to be successful, Alabama doesn't. Coker ended the season well but stop being a goober...he wasn't that good. If the starter next year can complete ~63% of his passes and not go all Coker with INTs, Alabama will be fine.
He may be, but this is starting to feel like Jeremy Johnson last year.
They return Foster, Stewart, Ridley, and Howard in the pass game. The offensive line WILL be better too. The offense should be better.

I think we have a chance to be better. The receivers go from a big question mark to a team strength. Three starters return on the OLine and we could be as good or better.
There is game experience at QB and young talent and we just have to see how that pans out. We do need players to step up at RB but if Scarborough realizes his potential we should be fine.
The defense will have a lot of experience and the secondary goes from a big question to a solid contributor. Both specialists are back but we will have to have newcomers step in at PR and KR , we will miss Cyrus Jones and Kenyon Drake.
This team has a chance to be just as good as last year, and maybe even better if we get good QB play. Should that happen there won't be any more loading the box with everyone but the mascot, teams will have to play us honest. It turns out it didn't work for Michigan State and Clemson all that well.

That's fine. You are entitled to your opinion. I just disagree. Going back and forth with you seems like a waste of time.

Bama just won the title, now they replace some absolutely HUGE parts of that team (Coker, Henry, Kelly, Ragland, Cyrus Jones, A'Shawn, Devall and Reed) I just don't see them being better. They'll still be very good, hell they'll probably win the SEC again. But I would bet anything 2015 Bama > 2016 Bama.
Coker ended the season well but stop being a goober...he wasn't that good.

Stop and think. We lose a ton every year. Mc Carron is gone and Sims steps up, helps win the SEC and takes this team to the playoffs.
We lose Sims,Yeldon, Cooper and all our experienced WR's. Not to mention replace 3 OL's and an AA safety and win the national championship.
There's a pattern here.

And the above quote means literally nothing as far as upgrading/downgrading at QB. If Alabama plays Clemson week 1 next year and gets in an indentical game with them...I don't think Barnett/Bateman could win the game...is that what you want to hear? Btw...with Coker, week 1, Alabama loses that game by 21.

Only thing that would make it tough would be an LF injury. I spend more time on Toldedo Bend Bass chasing in the fall to be honest with you.

Lost a senior quarterback (replaced with a sophomore) Julio Jones, Heisman winning running back, etc etc.
Y'all will learn one day, just probably not today

I do too, at least better than the average of the year. I think it will look more similar to the last 2 games except with another receiving threat, a better overall offensive line and a more mobile QB.

I think it helps them sleep.

It's posters like "Roses of Crimson" and "Teague", who I guarantee did not attend Alabama, who are absolutely ruining this board. ReauxlTide222, Patton and I are have a reasonable discussion where we disagree and you 2 sidewalk tools come in and try to start a moronic pissing contest. Glad to see I could slightly ruin your days though.
RT222 and Patton - You seem like good guys, best of luck fellas.

People say this every year about Alabama.
It is like were the reverse LSU/Tennessee/Auburn "this is our year!" preseason champs mantra.

I'm probably in the minority of my fanbase, but I agree...while he could be an upgrade, there'll be a learning curve so I'm in wait and see mode...and, while Barnett might be our starter next year, I still think it could be Bateman...

While I don't necessarily agree with you 'bout Harris, this will be the first time in the Saban era where we don't have a plug-n-play RB ready to go, at least experience-wise. Think it'll be Bo but not givin' up on Harris...most of his carries came in garbage time, when we had our second and third team OL in and were still primarily goin' against the other team's ones. He might not pan out but I'll wait and see how he does with our ones. Agree that we'll definitely miss Henry...

But I just don't see the offense getting better this year. The front 7 is going to take a dip, but your secondary could be great if they don't miss Mel Tucker too much.
While our offense might possibly be better, if our QB/RB replacements pan out, that's a big if...so I pretty much agree. Our front 7 should be really good again, but we won't have the depth we had this year. I think our secondary could be better...Tucker made a big improvement from last year and I think Pruitt will build on that since that's his specialty...
Think what we'll miss the most is leadership. Guys like Robinson, Reed, Allen, Coker, Ragland, Henry, Kelly, and probably Cyrus Jones as well. Those guys had a lot of discipline and our team was pretty much self policed this past year...and we lose all of 'em with the exception of Allen (and we're lucky to have him back).
I was surprised (pleasantly) that we won the SEC and made the playoffs the past 2 years after the attrition each year, so I'm hoping to be surprised again next season...I think we'll be in contention, just not gonna take it for granted that it'll be a slam dunk...
