I got on FB in 05-06 as a Jr in HS. You had to be invited. My older siblings were pissed because it was supposed to be a college thing only. The first 3-4 years I was on FB is was great. Then once the old people got on the kids didn't want their parents to find all their party pics and drunk post. They bailed and FB ended for what it was originally used for. I still have mine but never post.

I use it to keep up with family all over the country

I have a business page on there and a political page (ran for/will run again for office). If it weren't for that, I would have deactivated my account long ago.

I started on it in 2004 when you had to have a college email to join. Those were the days!
I'm still on it now but don't live on it or anything. Typically will check it once in the morning and once at night, just to see what's going on on my feed. I've purged my friends list a few times so the only people I'm friends with on there are people I don't mind having on there. I also maintain the FB page for our company.
I know FB has a stigma now but I mean you control who you're friends with and what all you see so IMO people who complain only have themselves to blame.

Same. Family and old college/military buddies.
People that are in a rush to be "over" Facebook are just the ones who wanted it to remain in its original college-centric permutation. Still has a lot of practical uses for most folks.

Thank god for Twitter and Instagram, that's where all the young cool people are .
I hardly ever get on FB anymore.

I use it but I think it's because of other factors.
1. It's *fantastic* free advertising if you want to produce a page and even pay a tiny fee to get it "boosted" to people in your area.
2. It helps me stay connected with family.
3. I like being transparent, and it allows me to beat away the countless women who fling themselves at me for my pearly white skin because I can just change my relationship status.

Never used it. Didn't see the use for it

To be honest, the only reason I even still have a Facebook account is so that one of my kids can play some of the games.
There's probably an app for that.

I use it, but then I'm one of the fully-qualified old farts mentioned by others. It's handy for keeping up with old friends that live far away. It's also a good idiot test. I had no idea so many of my HS classmates were morons... share if you agree.

No not really, most of the people I care to stay in contact with aren't as active on facebook as they used to be and the people that are active are annoying as frick. I logged in less and less and finally deactivated last month. Don't regret it.

I do, but I barely post anything. I keep it to keep up with a few people I'd never keep up with otherwise.

It's useful for coordinating events, especially for large numbers of people. Other than that it doesn't offer much IMO.

Rarely post but don't mind it for sharing humorous links and occasionally commenting on stupid shite. My Dad who is in his 60s vomits out political stuff and stupid "good luck" posts which make me want to delete my account.
