I would love to see Miami join the conference. I don't know how feasible is, but I think it would be great.

I feel it's only a matter of time before the big schools with plenty of $$$ split from everyone else, eventually leading to a ~50 school playoff division.
This has been my feeling for a while now except with 64 teams. This would almost be a semi-pro league of football, could only play teams in the league equalizing the playing field for playoff berths. If this happens the need for big conferences would be diminished. Teams with closer regional affiliation would form smaller divisions (8), and would have more freedom to schedule throughout the league without the worry of one or two losses killing your season as long as they won their division.

The OU President Boren is pissed. Just last night he made his demands clear in interview. Go to 12 teams, convert LHN into b12 network, and have b12 championship game. He said all 3 must happen right away
He's 100% right about every single one of those issues.

Do you think that this will start another domino effect or that it will just be a Big XII move (if they move at all)?
Probably nothing big will happen, with the possible exceptions of Notre Dame (ACC, most likely) and/or BYU (Big XII if anything) making a move. The recent rule change on conference championship games will remove any pressure on the Big XII to expand, though.

Are the supposed iron clad contractual agreements signed by a lot of conferences and schools post-2011 enough to stop more shifts?
They will be enough to stop any major programs from switching conferences, but you could see some jostling among the mid-majors and the above ND and BYU possibilities. If ND goes to ACC and/or BYU goes to Big XII, those conferences may also add another team to keep an even number, but it would be a team from a mid-major conference. The Power 5 are probably through raiding each other for the foreseeable future.

Shut up, no one wants to hear about matchups and what teams you would actually enjoy watching your team play. It's about footprints and money. You'll watch your team play East Carolina University and like it.
Why do you people insist on continuing to think that college football is about entertainment?

One thing I would like to see out of expansion.... Is to add whoever we need to add to get bama and auburn to the east so we can stop having permanent cross overs, then bama-tenn and au-uga are divisional games, and as a added bonus we'd get Au-UF and Au-tenn back on a yearly basis.

I would much rather have UVA than VA Tech. They have great baseball and basketball programs and great academic program, but I realize football is king, and VA Tech wins that category. I feel like UVA fits in better culturally as well.

UVA and UNC wouldn't join the SEC unless everything blew up and things significantly changed. They'd be much more apt to join the Big Ten.

Except it is not a coincidence there was no SEC Network until the Aggies added Texas to the SEC footprint and increased the population in the SEC state footprint by 1/3.

Why do you say that? Not saying you're wrong, just curious.

They see themselves as academic schools and our conference as an athletics conference. To summarize, they look down on us as institutions and would want to be in a league with like-minded schools.
NC State and Virginia Tech would be much more likely options, though the politics of splitting in-state schools from their rivals would be difficult, especially in Virginia. Virginia (the state government) had a big battle when Tech got into the ACC, and I think they even passed bills stating they couldn't split apart (could be wrong there).

Um, no. Snooty bastards do not fit with the SEC. I grew up in VA. They are not SEC fans at all.
First problem is t-shirt sales. If, as an adult, you wear a UVA t-shirt in VA there's a good chance you actually attended the college. Quite different culturally than the SEC.
Hell, when I moved to FL I thought everyone graduated from college because of all the FSU, UF and Miami gear. Boy was I wrong. Then I moved to AL and dear lord the t-shirts.

But, a Southern conference that does not include NC and Virginia?
I've said before we should kick out Missouri, and Kentucky for being damn Yankees and add UNC, Duke, Virginia, and Oklahoma to go to 16.

I am pretty confident that if the SEC moved to expand again it would chase schools in Virginia and North Carolina.
NO:
va tech
w va
nc st
ok st
louisville
we don't need these 2nd rate schools. bring in the top or don't expand.

Add NC State and Va Tech, slide Mizzou over to the west.

While I generally agree, the SEC is already at 4 AAU schools. Only one behind the ACC. It would probably take some pretty good recruiting by the SEC's AAU schools to make it happen.

Of course they're not SEC fans. They're in the ACC.
I think t shirt sales have more to do with success and branding than with conference, so I'm not sure what point you're making there. You don't see a lot of people who aren't students or alumni sporting Vandy football shirts.

Can't imagine why "Big Game" Bob would want to come to a mediocre conference like the SEC. I would prefer North Carolina and Duke.
Helps in Basketball, academics...just a good fit all the way around.
