Chad Morris is head coaching at SMU, so...Clemsons offense is still just as good as it was when Chad was there so your theory doesn't fit at all.
Dabo is not an X's and O's guy at all. He doesn't have to be. There is a long list of coaches that have been fired because they have a crappy staff around them. Dabo has done a phenomenal job getting competent coaches around him while he focuses on recruiting, talking and motivating. Any leader can be effective at whatever they do if they maximize their strengths and get others to fill in the weaknesses.

Miles almost follows the same blueprint.

He's never been a coordinator, and he's only been an assistant for 3 head coaches (Stallings, DuBose and Tommy Bowden), only one of which was even a decent head coach. So no, he's not an X's and O's type of guy in the least.
However, I will give him credit for being a great recruiter and for hiring good assistants and staying out of their way. That's a big part of being a good head coach. There are very few in the weeds taskmasters anymore like Saban.

That's true too. He's a coach, not a brain surgeon. I'm sure he's more than capable of learning football plays, as are most of us. It's the other things that matter... Recruiting, leading young men, etc.

I have had dinner with Dabo on two different occasions, and the guy is the ultimate salesman and politician. Those are his strengths. Combine that with some great X and O assistants, a manageable schedule, and you can see why Clemson is in the position that they are.

This seems to be the case. Wasn't he a real estate agent? Not surprising. The guy loves to talk it seems.

Dabo strikes me as a fan who found himself in the seat of a major head coaching job, not unlike many fans here. I think many of us die-hard cfb message board fans would probably run our programs the very same way. Consider recruiting top priority, decide on a modern-day sophisticated spread offense, hire dynamite assistants and coordinators and be hands-off with them, and be the rah rah figurehead of the program.
Dabo is your typical message board fan. He's like one of us playing NCAA Football but IRL at a program with all the resources.

He sure didn't know he needed to protect the sideline on a kickoff.

He doesn't strike me as an X's and O's guy. Recruiter, motivator, figurehead. He's done well with his assistants, though. Particularly his coordinators.

It seems to me like he is the perfect kind of HC

Smart is one of the best defensive play callers in the business. When people think of playcalling, they only seem to think of the offense. There someone on the other side doing perhaps an even harder job.
Being a good play caller does not make you a good head coach . It doesn't mean you won't be either

Carolina fans have said this since the beginning

When Chad Morris leaves their offense will be terrible
That really sucks for Dabo, considering Morris has been the SMU coach for a year.

Why do people think Dabo isn't an intelligent guy? Reminds me of a young Bobby Bowden

How bout this?
Without one if the best pkayers in football, does he win a game? Is that what youre asking?
There is a difference in coaching ability and having the best player on the field. Great players make all coaches look good. Im sure there isnt a play in the playbook that says run around and throw to open guy.
