That last picture is of a chalk mural at Druid City brewing in Tuscaloosa. They change it about once a week. They've even had a drawing of Les Miles up there.

quote:Not claiming to be an expert on all things Catholic, just saying that I've never seen a single thing associated with a Catholic church named after a donor in my experience and even if there are places named after random people, they're usually named after pastors or people associated with the church. I've seen plaques, etc. but to full on name a catholic student center after Nick Saban, something I've never seen before, in Alabama of all places, is hilarious to me
So, Mr. Expert on all things Catholic
quote:What is this even referring to? And how is it even remotely comparable to the topic of this thread?
explain to us what Jesus might think to see his flock named after a sports team. "Catholic Tigers"
quote:"Newman Centers are residence and Catholic ministry centers at non-Catholic universities throughout the world. These centers provide pastoral services and ministries to their Catholic communities, in particular to the Roman Catholic student population within universities throughout the world.
And who the frick are Newman Centers named after?
Newman Centers were named in honor of Cardinal John Henry Newman and were inspired by Newman's writings. The first Newman Center was established in 1893 at the University of Pennsylvania."
So to answer your question, not after a fricking donor or football coach

I'll take some pics with my phone the next time I'm in Birmingham.

You do realize that picture of Saban isn't permanent and is at a place that has done funny drawings of several SEC coaches don't you?
Saban may have a sauce available but I'very never seen it in a store. Sounds like the sales of the sauce go to a good cause anyway.

You sure you didn't just stop in at Full Moon or Dreamland? Two BBQ places that have a shite ton of sports memorabilia on the walls?

You're don't know much of Druid City Brewing Co.

Wow. Small world jatebe. Just figured out who you are with the Guntersville comment and the username which basically sounds out your initials.

All joking aside, it's actually creepy as frick that y'all are naming a church after y'all's football coach. Catholic churches are almost always named after saints, popes, or religious places and the student centers are usually named after the churches. Seems pretty weird and disrespectful to me, but y'all keep on keepin on, Alabama

Yeah, y'all just punch your sisters in the face while fricking them after a loss. It's a "lesser of two evils" thing.

Well that makes sense since Les isnt Catholic, doesnt it.
Like I said, this would be a non issue if he was, and his name was on a Church affiliated building.
But nice deflection, nice to see that every facet of the University of Alabama has borrowed space in your head. And please keep up the self-righteous Catholic act, it looks really good on you.

If it wasn't readily apparent when southeasttiger started posting in this thread, the fact that he started making jokes about murder and incest highlighted his self-righteous Catholic act for precisely what it is.
An act.
