I'm for giving Gus another run if he can find a QB, mainly one that can run. I don't trust him with a pocket passer at all.

And that will be his downfall if he goes that route. He has a great pocket passer in Sean White, great skill players, and a defensive coordinator that can get this thing turned around. AU was very, very fortunate to get to the NC in 2013. 2010, AU had Cam Newton. It's evident, especially now with his NFL success, that a player his caliber won't come around again any time soon. Sustained success really hasn't been accomplished at the power 5 level with a dual threat QB every year, but has almost always happened with a pocket passer.

I'm willing to stay on the Gus Bus if he makes the right offseason hires/fires on offense and brings in someone that can help him develop an intermediate passing game.

1. The schools that sustain success are generally recruiting power houses that are proficient all around. Offense, defense, running game, passing etc... This isn't really a realistic goal for Auburn to be in the top 5 recruiting every year. They also are usually pro style offenses because they can afford to out talent their opponents. Gus is not a pro style coach.

2. Urban Meyer has sustained success pretty well with Dual Threat QBs.

3. Cam was a once in a generation player and talent I'll grant you that, but Nick Marshall was an athletic defensive back with a good arm. I love Nick but we could find another QB like him.

"Great pocket passer"? Come on, he's shown flashes but that's an huge exaggeration. Only outdone by this one...

great skill players

We do not have great skill players at all. There is a reason we are one of the worst teams in the country at big plays. Jovon has looked good the last two weeks (though he lacks elite speed) and Kerryon shows promise but our WR corp is awful.
