Seems like they would learn. Some of these fools really believe Bama didn't deserve to be in the 21-0 molestation BCSCG. They then convinced themselves that the playoff would keep Bama out since the committee would see it they delusional way they do.
Yet they continue to be wrong. Hmmmmm.

If they wanted to put Bama in there in 3 weeks, I get it, but to have them ahead of TCU/Baylor/MSU is insane
Michigan State has a road win that is better than any win Bama has. Call it fluke if you want but they have the W
You see the committee wanted to make sure the SEC and specifically Bama can get into the playoffs even if Ole Miss were to somehow win out and prevent Bama from SEC Champ game.
With Bama already in the top 4, it pretty much assures them that Bama can win out, not make the SEC champ game, and still have a ligitimate reason to be included in playoff. We all know they WON'T drop Bama out if they win out no matter what else happens since they are already in top 4. Now everybody understands how LSU felt in 2011. I for one am not surprised at all and understand moving forward its just the way things are.

Schedule they were dealt? You realize you get to schedule your own OOC games, right? Who have TCU and Baylor chosen to schedule? THAT is the committee's issue with those two teams.

Call it a fluke if you want? Whether I want to call it that or not is irrelevant. I HAVE to call it that b/c that's precisely what it was. The committee seemingly took that into account too.

I honestly don't agree with the rating at all, but from a marketing standpoint it's genius.
1. This ensures that the entire country will be talking about this for the next four days and nights. Money in the bank.
2. This ensures the entire country will be watching the game Saturday. Mo' money.
3. The ranking as released tonight is absolutely irrelevant. In four days, at least with respect to #2 and #4, everything will snap into place, no matter the result.
4. If LSU wins, the story will be about breaking the streak, led by a tremendous Heisman trophy candidate. Destiny.
5. If Bama wins, it will prove that the pundits were correct in placing them in the top four and the loss won't hurt the perception of LSU or LF7.
6. With either loss, Baylor will move up provided it can find a QB and win. All else fixes itself.
It's a win-win for the playoff cash machine, as awful as it is. However, I think it could also be a springboard to a better, more robust playoff system. One can only hope.

MSU completely outplayed Michigan in that game. Outgained them 2-1, and Michigan was the team who got a phantom TD when they were stopped on 4th and goal at the 1 but the refs decided to run towards the scrum before blowing the whistle
The issue is that if the playoff started today, without forecasting, college football would go into anarchy with Bama included. They LOST A GAME AT HOME TO AN AVEARGE FOOTBALL TEAM. They didn't lose to a #1 LSU 9-6 in overtime. They lost to an already 2 loss team who lost to a team from the American conference convincingly.
I didn't trumpet OSU at all, because I'm not even sure they should be in the top 4 at this point. However, MSU has a better win than anything Bama has...and MSU doesn't have a loss

I like MSU but they are hot garbage. Lucky for them, the Big Ten is.

The corndog butthurt over Bama is so funny. WTF does it matter?
Either team wins out and they're in and will kill the other three teams in there.

But the playoffs don't start today so that point is irrelevant. That isn't the issue. MSU does have a better win. No question. Overall though Alabama is 4-1 against teams in the top 30. So, is one huge win more important than 4 good wins? The committee doesn't seems to think so.

When?

Michigan win was not a "fluke," it just ended in one. Go look at the stats again, Michigan State's defense was stout and Cook had a very solid game. They actually outplayed a very good Michigan team, on the road, in a big rivalry game. It's a bigger accomplishment than what Bama has done.
Eta: didn't see the OSU fan's post

No, we earned their hatred the day we hired Nick Saban.
LSU isn't about 4 in a row, 1/9 or Tom frickin Ritter.
It started on Jan 7 with the news Saban would be our coach. THey haven't gotten over it one bit. I'll say this for Florida, ya'll handled Spurrier to USCe very well compared to this melt that is on its ninth year.
