Ole Miss and its recruiting relevance baffles me. Talk about a mediocre school in terms of on-field performance. They've won 10 games once in 50 years of college football and that was the year Eli Manning was the QB and LSU won the National Championship.

They're closer to their last 10-Loss season (2011) than they are their last 10-win season (2003).

Hurry !!! Send all of us in a memo to Gregory and his family ... He probably didn't realize this ... This might be exactly what he needs to see in order for LSU to orchestrate some type of flip down the road !!!

First off, kids do not care what happened a decade ago. Tradition means nothing to them. They live in the now.

Secondly, what we did in 2011, when this staff was not here, is not a negative, but a positive in recruiting. Look how far they have brought this program in just 4 years.

Third, Freeze was Oregeron's recruiting coordinator. He learned from the best.

Fourth, the big time programs want to believe that kids care about tradition or that kids care about championships won in the past. Those are nice feathers in your cap, and for a lot of kids, you have to prove to them that there is at least a shot at winning at title at your school, but these kids are narcissistic. They believe that they themselves can win a title for teams that are almost there, like us. They also want to be remembered forever instead of being just another team. We have street signs for players who won 10 games. Winning 10 games at LSU is just another season. You do something special at OM, you are a god forever in Oxford.

Fifth, The two most important things kids care about after relationships with the coach are playing time and getting to the league. We have been able to sell playing time much more so than the LSU's and Bama's of the world.

6th, we have not exactly recruited elite year in and year out. I hope we get there, but we have only done something special the one year that we have the #1 player in the country's brother. It also was the same year that we had placed a 5* juco in MS. Treadwell was a lowly recruited 4* before he blew up and it was too late for everyone that wasnt on him earlier. His top 3 were Michigan, Okie Lite, and OM. His favorite was Michigan but they did not even invite momma on the trip, who was making the decision. It got out that he canceled out Michigan for that reason and OSU and OM recruited the hell out of momma. In the end, LT went to the SEC school that had the #1 player in the country headed their way. Tony Connor was 20 miles away, and we were the only school willing to give Laremy Tunsil's step brother a full ride who did not have an offer anywhere. The only other player in that class that doesnt make perfect sense is Austin Golson, who was not recruited by Bama or Auburn until the end and he ended transferring back to the school that hurt his feelings. The past two classes do not have a single kid that didnt have MS or player ties to it. If you break down our recruiting classes, you realize why the recruits chose OM. If you look at it from afar then its easy to come up with conspiracy theories. Do yall really think OM boosters spend more than Bama's, Auburn's or FSU's? Of course not. Then why is money what is making these kids come to OM if everyone is cheating?

Lastly, if you read recruiting articles you get a picture of whats important to kids. Its not your history, its not your past success under a different coach. It is relationships with the coaches, playing time, can you get me to the league, can you win big, facilities, and campus life. All recruits are different but generally thats in order is what most important. We have a shitty stadium, but the facility that players spend the majority of time in, IPF, is one of the nation's best. Freeze is extremely personable and recruits his arse off. He has not proved you can win big, but has improved that he can take a team from 2 wins to 9 wins and a BCS equivalent bowl in 3 years. And OM has the best campus lifestyle to offer. The only combination of college town, women, and beautiful campus, (OM has ranked 1st in the SEC in all 3) is UGA. The reason Freeze has not recruited elite year in and year out is because he lacks in NFL players (about to change) and our stadium (expanded renovated next year, but still not elite).
