I hear you, Cooter.
My post was mostly in response to Klarvin and agalloch. They seem to be saying that A-State had talent equal or superior to A&M. Now I will readily admit there were big holes on our roster, particularly on the OL. But I guarantee that even our O-linemen were more highly regarded coming out of HS than were those of A-State.

10-4.
We didn't have the talent to compete for championships in the Big XII at that year regardless of the coaching, but I agree we had the talent to beat Arkansas State if only the coaches weren't blindly trying to install a complete NFL offense in one fall and the team wasn't dealing with the usual coaching turnover locker-room issues.

Saw someone say that if Sumlin beats #24 Ole Miss this weekend, he will have 10 top 25 wins, which would be the most of any coach in A&M history. And he'll have done in it in just 3.5 seasons.
I think that should provide pretty good perspective on how well Sumlin has done in his time here.

Yep. If he beats Ole Miss we'll be exactly what we are... which is a pretty dang good team that just doesn't have the talent that Alabama has, which isn't something I'm going to freak out about right now. But if we go out there and Kyle Allen throws picks all night and that Oompa Loompa Murray can't do anything either and he still refuses to put my boy Hoobastank in, I'm going to be angry.

How bad could "Hoobastank" be? And why would he come here and sit on the bench? Kyler has shown nothing in game situations.

That team really was fricking awful. We had nothing. Arkie State was legit better than we were.
