He was spying, says so in the subject line. SEC does not allow spying but doubt that they could ever ban all video from sidelines. Do you have any serious questions?

Bama got all that top secret spy gear and stuff.
Next they'll be using something to mess with the snap count.
They so c-a-t smart! Something must be done !!

it definitely looks shady and patriots-esque but my question is how he knew what to signal. he's not close enough to see the play sheet. those plays are called in by code like red eagle carolina sky fleet. how would he know what that means?

Decoder ring from Cracker Jacks box. Or, if you have plenty of time, you can collect box tops from Frosted Flakes and order one.

I think the questions are pretty valid, videoing an opposing teams sideline is a ncca and sec rule violation first and foremost.
The guy is holding the mic with two hands what's he recording with and why?
So we're to believe he just happened to catch that particular video and nothing more, come on? Again what is the reasoning for videoing anything?
Why is this guy so close to Bret in several instances??? Go watch some games you never see a mic guy standing next to or right behind a coach?
Lastly, who and what is the hand signal for, is he really waving to mom?
I don't know if he's stealing squat but the game doesn't need fans of a team videoing anything right beside opposing coaches. St. Nick and these bama fans would be going nutts if it was an AR fan on there sideline doing this crap.

It must really suck to be a coach in the SEC and lose to fat Bert. There's what...3 of them now?

So, what, are they going to put ESPN on probation?

Sounds? Because this isn't the 1910s anymore, and people want sound?

Why do you think that that was the only thing that captured on video?

How about you go find this out and report back?

You clearly know nothing about live sports broadcast. Hand signals are a very normal thing.

Typically the parab mic guys stand between the 15 and 25 yard line. 25 yard line is where the team box starts and you aren't supposed to go inside that. Where on the field were they? It doesn't show in that short video.
The camera guys have headsets to communicate back and forth with the TV truck. Parab Mics only have headphones that monitor the audio they're catching. So it is very likely that hand signals could be used. I never experienced that when I did it, though.

I love that Arky's coach gets caught looking like a joke, and Arky fans are trying to claim that an ESPN boom mic operator is passing signals to Bama. Even the Commish told Bert he was a moron. But the fans don't want to drop it.
Someone get these guys some lithium. Their meds have obviously ran out.

ESPN isn't the one filming personal video, and this cluck isn't videoing for ESPN.

So you get sounds from a go pro you have mounted on the mic?

I'm certain it's not so tell me why is this guy videoing from the Arkansas sideline?

Great who's paying him to get the video on the AR sideline, it's not espn?

Stop trying to make sense. Bama cheated

1) why the mic guy was recording video on the Arkansas sideline?
This has been covered.
Educate me cause I haven't seen the reasoning yet.
Why was he recording?
Is this allowed by the SEC?
Have you never seen someone record cell phone videos of at a concert, air show, etc.? This is 2015....where everyone has to have a pic or vid to remind themselves that they did something.
Next time you go to a game...count all the people on the sidelines with their phones out taking pictures and videos.

I answered this earlier. He signals Scott Cochran. Scott relays message to Kirby.
