My title is Producer and I work for a large insurance brokerage that is based out of Chicago. You can figure the rest out for yourself if you'd like.

What does a producer do? Do you underwrite or conduct risk analysis? Are you in sales? Are you compensated by commission in part or straight salary?

Sales and of course I conduct risk analysis. I work in healthcare, large hazmat transportation, construction and manufacturing. Commission off of my book of business, new business, and salary.

Since you obliged, I'm a lawyer, work at a fairly large Texas-based firm, make plenty of money but if you put it up against hours worked is probably less than minimum wage, engaged, dog. Actually handle insurance defense often, probably something you have see a few times.
