LSU's offense

I'm sick and tired of our offense being called one dimensional. Yes, we are definitely a run first team, but Les will slowly but surely let Harris get more snaps a game... If you look at his passes everyone of them but two in the auburn game have been on the MONEY. He got excited and overthrew two in the end zone. It happens to young qb's all the time. He will progress throughout these small games. He hasn't thrown any interceptions. His qb rating is phenomenal. He can throw in the pocket, rolling out, and has the speed and elusiveness to be not just a good dual threat, but a great one. So, until he proves to be a disappointment or a failure, I don't want to hear any smack talk about LSU not being able to throw the ball. We haven't needed to.... We've steam rolled with our Running backs, and why not they've torn up the running game. There hasn't been a need to pass. Brandon is going to get nothing but better as the season progresses. All the LSU fans stop worrying, there's nothing to worry about. All other SEC fans that play us, I'd start worrying... Don't believe me watch these next two small opponents and watch him throw. If I'm wrong I'll post and eat crow for my comments.

Ummm....I disagree. Les isn't going to open up the passing game. All the jet sweeps that started last year are his way of avoiding it. And Harris was throwing behind people after he led that one guy into getting leveled. Hopefully neither of those things continue. And, Bama will largely stuff our run. Our D had better bring its A+ game. Harris has great potential, but without purple and gold glasses on, there are multiple sides to the issue.

Les Miles called a pass play once. He didnt much care for it.

I could see you using past years qb's and applying them to him, but watch the next few games and just watch!. Maybe Les doesn't let him get reps to increase Buga's stats. But I highly doubt he does that, due to that being horrible for the team. I do realize you pointed out things in the game, but every LSU fan feels like they've been through the ringer with qb's... And when we finally have a good one it's hard to actually face it. But Brandon Harris is more than good. Just wait on it.

Last year I kept praying for more 15 yard slants because they fit Jennings' ability. This year I'm praying for more 10 yard posts. Harris has a rocket arm but relies on that and is sometimes half a second too slow in making decisions. He can, however, nail a specific spot on the field with a timed post pass. I think.

Nobody melts after a win like LSU. Nobody.

Not sure you saw the Miss St game. LSU had a total of 337 yards of offense. Harris was 9/14 for 71 yards.
The previous game for Miss St they gave up 415 yards to Southern Miss. Miss St. did shut down Southern Miss running game but they did throw for over 300 yards.
Say what you want but 337 yards of total offense and Miss St had a chance to win at the end. Mismanaged timeouts and ended up with a longer field goal attempt. Most of the LSU fans can say what they want but at the end of the day, Miss St had a decent chance to pull it off.
Harris may end up being a great duel threat player, passer, etc... but I don't see how you can say that after a 9/14 for 71 yards and 12/17 for 74 yards. He may end up being a great QB but let's don't get hysterical over these stats. He is on pace to pass for about 800 yards and throw 4 TDs.
Slow the roll just a bit.

When you have AP reincarnated you're going to run the ball a lot. Harris just put up a 70 percent completion game. Better than any Jennings performance EVER. Weren't people saying that if LSU could just get a serviceable qb they would be unstoppable?
I expect to see more pass attempts be taken as the season progresses

I fully agree with you. Obviously having LF rush for 200+ is a sure fire way to lose to LSU. Got to think that some of the teams coming up are going to load the box and force Harris to beat them throwing the ball. This is going to happen. Can he throw the ball 20-25 games against a little better defense than Auburn trotted out?? He might be able to but some of the claims about him are getting a bit out of hand.
Less than 150 total yards passing after 2 games is hardly proof of anything. Can he pass when he needs to? Can he pass under pressure? Can he pass when he needs to & is under pressure AND the game is tight? All of this matters.
Arkansas has a QB that can fling the ball around pretty well. Until he has to throw a good pass in a tight game. Then he misses open receivers and hits the crossbar.

MSU and Auburn have already tried this. Didn't really work out too well for them.

Not to sidetrack but can aggie or ole miss get 1 yard when they need to run it.

We all know Auburn defense sucks. This is not new. They sucked last year and they suck this year. Boom's Auburn defense routinely gave up 30+ points against better teams last year and will do so again this year. They went 5-7 last year mostly because their D is pitiful.
MSU held you guys with AP reincarnate to less than 340 yards of total offense. Say what you want to but at the end of the game they had a chance to win with a FG. Yes it was long. They mismanaged the clock and ended up with an even longer FG but they STILL had a chance to win at the end of the game. LSU only scored 21 points.
They don't have near the offense or athletes that Ole Miss or Bama have and I don't think they have the defense of either of these teams. In my opinion I think the MSU defense played LSU well enough to win. They just don't have enough offense.
That's just my opinion.

I don't think we can. Sure didn't do it against ASU. We have a power runner but don't have power running blocking. They are working on it. If we have 1st and goal at the 3 against LSU, Bama, Ole Miss, ... I wouldn't expect us to be able to run it in on 3 plays or even 4. We definitely have a problem with this still.

Yes, this year is going to be completely different than all the other years. And, not only different, but different in the way that you would prefer.
