I would think we could surely get someone better.
Chad Morris.
But Gus isn't going anywhere, nor should he.

Why worry? We will be playing in the National Championship next year!! Deja vu? Who is the top JUCO QB this year in recruiting?
2010 - 14 & 0 2013 - 12 & 2
2011 - 8 & 5 2014 - 8 & 5
2012 - 3 & 9 2015 - 2 & trending down

I'm not saying we shouldn't worry but there's still no need to go full retard and say Freeze has had more sustained success.

Yes, he gets another year and deservedly so. However, if he has a losing season next year...

Yes. Our idiot athletic director gave him a 12 million dollar buyout over a fluke year.

Really? Cause I have not seen them in a National Championship game

Did you watch that Ole Miss game last night? That is two years in a row over the bammers. Ole Miss is going in the right direction while Auburn is regressing. Sad but true.

Watch that Ole Miss game last night? Look at those records. One is trending up and the other is trending down.
Hmmmm.

it was evident the team wasn't trying anymore.
Saw a good bit of that yesterday.
Not team-wide yet, but its getting there.

while I agree that it is trending up, they are about to lose a ton of big time stars in the draft this year and will return to earth soon enough. Freeze is a good coach, don't take it as me shitting on him, but he has an upper classman team of really good players like we did in 2010.

Show me where he's had any type of sustained success? Actually show me where he's had any success period.
You're talking out your arse. The Ole Miss game last night has nothing to do with sustained success

Well they have improved every year that he has been there. Look at their record. This is his best team yet. New quarterback that is having immediatte success in the system. Beat Bammer two years in a row. Recruits and has a defense. Are you jelly? I am.

So in your eyes, we should fire Jacobs, Fire Gus and his staff and start over?
Is that correct?

Are we witnessing Chizik 2.0? We should have fired Jay Jacobs years ago. Malzahn will get another year because of the buyouts. But this program is trending down. What if they lose all league games this year like Chizik did? We just took JSU to overtime and we just got skull fricked by LSU. Let that sink in for a moment: JSU took us to overtime and actually outplayed us. Wow!

So Jacobs makes all these great hires and you want to fire him
Dude, you are a perfect Auburn guy. frick everything that is good, just fire mother frickers when we lose.

there were several other factors in play for Chizik to get hung out to dry. We had a ton of arrests, inquiries from the NCAA and he completely lost the team by mid season. Gus has none of this and I honestly think a lot is still fixable if we find a quarterback that can move the offense.

Dude is obviously a long-standing member of the old Lowder Burn-It-All-Down-And-Salt-The-Earth Faction.
Those are the people who would have burnt every building on campus down and salted the earth to "get" Lowder. And then would have stood on the barren wasteland they wrought, nodding sagely, thinking "NOW things are good!"
This is just a smaller, less important version of that crowd.
Just pay no attention.

Not true. I am a realist. Do not wear colored glasses and do not let emotions effect decisions. Were you one of the one's that defended Chizik and was against getting rid of him? Chizik was fired because he lost all league games, had lost the team and look at the trend of his record. Malzahn is in danger of replicating that this year. I hope he doesn't but he may. To sustain a program a proven head coach must be hired. Look at the examples of programs that win 10 games every year. When is the last time that Auburn has sustained success? Won back to back 10 game seasons? The last two football coaches that Jacobs hired were unproven head coaches. Are we witnessing Chizik 2.0?
