I don't see an 8-0 team in the West. 7-1 would win it, but 2 or 3 6-2 teams could tie for it. 4 and 5 games into the season we will all at least know the contenders and it still maybe 4 to 5 teams.

Talent is there but they haven't put it all together yet. We shall see.

ASU will blitz a helluva a lot so if the OL isn't ready it would be neat to see Kyler play

It's still pre season. Won't be that much parity this season imo

Yep it's a concern. The OL is learning a new system though so it's natural for them to be a bit behind.
Oh, Murray will for sure play as well.

It'll be interesting how it shakes out. I can see Bama taking a step back this year and OM struggling on offense a bit. I think Arkansas improves but doesn't contend. LSU should be good but their defense will likely regress. I think auburn and A&M determine the west.
I just spit coke everywhere but I could see Aubarn winning it. aggy's are stupid

Y'all also lost like 90 combined career starts on that offensive line though.

this is true, but never before have we gone into a season where you could put teams in any random order today and it wouldn't be *that* shocking if it turned out that way at the end of the year.

it's a toughness issue in College Station

Repeating things over and over doesn't make it more true.
Our 2012 team was probably one of the most physical in the country.
Sumlin has addressed the last two seasons by hiring Chavis and Christensen.

Everybody with eyes can see that A&M has become softer and softer under Sumlin

Band-aids on a mortal wound. The culture your head coach creates around his programs create a lack of toughness in his teams.

Sure thing buddy.
Mortal wounds? Like hiring the same DC who gave up 70 in the orange bowl? Sounds rather fatal.

I'm not sold on Steele but his Clemson defense only went into the tank when they started running the HUNH. That's another reason why Aggie won't ever field a top defense with Sumlin as the coach, regardless of who the DC is.

Chavis gave up 41 to an Auburn team that A&M beat.
Don't act as if LSU hasn't been blown out with Chavis coordinating the D.

I would not trade any of our three for either of the two LSU has

All I'm saying is you're defense can ill afford to regress due to your offense. Sumlin has firmly addressed our issues.
Top d based on what metric? It's perfectly possible to have an efficient defense with our offense.

To show how close it is, Miss. State, who at one point was #1 last year, is not given much of a shot this year; ostensibly because they lost a lot. However, they do have Dak Prescott, which makes them a contender.
A&M will have offensive firepower, but will their defense be improved? If so, they too will contend for the title.
The other five are all legit contenders...

True but Chavis is a proven commodity. Even Saban teams have given up 40+ but no one doubts his defenses.
