Sorry that Tiger Stadium doesn't live up to your wine and cheese expectations. Are you a "tsip" posing as an Aggie fan?

This coming from the same guy that claimed the Big 12 intentionally kept them from having success?

Actually it was more unintentional. The Big 12 just followed its rules and did what was in its best interest, and that happened to disenfranchise A&M (until 2010). It wasn't malice, just a poorly designed conference from the start that was always a bad fit for A&M.

And what do you know about it? Did you follow the Big 12 back in the day that you know how the payouts worked? Did you notice in 2010 when they went back on their Tier 3 rules to accommodate the LHN? Do you know the Big 12 rules for Tier 1 TV appearances? Have you read the new Big 12 GOR word for word like I have? I bet not on all counts.

I might not know football as well as many here, but I know this conference and realignment shite better than anyone on these forums. You are barking up the wrong tree criticising my position on that. Say I am nuts that I think Sumlin is worth the money or something else outside of my wheelhouse. I am right the way the Big 12 was built put us at a natural disadvantage.

Yea ok, we've all entered the no spin zone!

I won't deny I am known to reach for a silver lining, but I don't have to argue some conditional crap (since 1985..) with our facilities.

We have the best football facilities in the SEC in 2015. Full stop.

No spin needed.

But Kyle Field is the best facility for college football in the SEC.

Based on what? You have the most seats atm, but you're done. Tiger Stadium has an end zone to expand to.

And Kyle Field will never be higher in terms of premium seating than it is now, which is fourth, behind Tiger Stadium, Arky's Reynolds Razorback Stadium, and Bryant Denny.

Kyle has worse sightlines than Tiger Stadium due to the slope of the stands and the farthest seats being much farther from the field than is the case with Tiger Stadium.

Tiger Stadium has no peers when it comes to the close proximity fans sit to exits, and thus to restrooms and concessions.

Tiger Stadium has no peers in the amount of overall premium seating.

Tiger Stadium has no peers in the amount of overall chair back seating.

Tiger Stadium has no peers in the amount of field level seating.

Case closed, verdict rendered, don't let the courthouse door smack your arse on the way out.

I would love to see your source that the 2015 Kyle Field is fourth in premium seating.

Dude, It's common knowledge. Just in terms of # of suites, it's BDS, TS, RRS, KF. It terms of Club seating it's TS, RRS, BDS, KF. In terms of premium seating of all types, it's TS by a country mile with 32K+, then way down to RRS, BDS, and KF.

Tiger Stadium has 22,000+ chairback seats in the lower bowl sidelines. It's the only stadium in the SEC where the SEC-mandated 2,000 lower bowl visitors seats are chair back seats. You're welcome.

Feel free to peruse my thread here: 10, 20, 30, More...What percent of your football stadium's seats are chairbacks?

Old knowledge. We just rebuilt our West Side, which means all the assumptions and math you have done regarding Kyle in the past don't apply anymore. We added a TON of chairback seats in the lower decks, and our west side suites are the nicest in the conference.

Plus you are wrong about the fact we can't grow. Here I will show you how to prove something:

quote:

the addition of an upper seating deck and concourse has a seating capacity of approximately 12,000 seats with the potential to add 7,000 seats in the future.

LINK

There you go, from the people that built it- we have capacity for 7000 mores seats. Looks like your "common knowledge" isn't accurate.

Overall facilities

Currently probably LSU but in the next few years UK may be top of the heap overall

Just built
* top end softball facilities
* top end soccer facilities
* top end track and field facilities

In progress or future construction
* Downsized football facilities for top end donors and corporate types
* Probably downsize of Rupp to follow the football model - 6,000 less seats but ultra luxury facilities
* New 30 - 40 million baseball stadium

Tennis facilities are above average and so are swimming and diving facilities in conference

When looking at SEC sports, UK may have the best overall in the next few years (granted this is based on viewing each sport as an equal weight when we know the reality is football and basketball drive the economic bus)

Look man, TAMU is the greatest at everything now that they don't have tflagship holding them back. Didn't you see the recent article saying UT needs A&M? Well it's not just UT, apparently we all need A&M and their money and the best stadium in college football and the tv market they bring and their academics. Honestly I don't know why any of us play football anymore or why we even attempt to educate students...we are all just playing for second place. Get on the maroon bandwagon and lets ride to a national championship. Our train hasn't reached its destination in 75 years but we are getting there because we are the best. Just accept it.

You're kinda right. On rechecking my post, I was wrong to say Kyle Field is fourth in number of suites at 114. Kyle Field is actually fifth in number of suites, behind Bryant-Denny's 157, Tiger Stadium's 136, Arky's RRS with 132, and UT's Neyland with 120 suites.

As far as total number of seats in suites, LSU has the largest amount with around 3.8K, since each Tiger Stadium suite is usually larger than those in most other stadiums.

In terms of club seating it's RRS with 8K, TS with 6.7K, KF with 5K, BDS with 4K, and NS with 3K.

LSU's 22,000+ sideline chairback seats are unrivaled in terms of numbers. And that doesn't even include the field level seats which are also chairback, and completely line the field all the way around the stadium.

Again, you're welcome.

The good news is, there are no losers here. With the SECN money set to roll in, everybody in this conference will have stellar facilities!

It's a great time to be an SEC fan!

# of suites isn't the be all end all. Size of suites and capacity of the suites would be more useful. Basically what I'm saying is not all suites are created the same. The 12 founders suites at Kyle probably trump any other single suite anywhere else.

Everybody hates on Neyland, I think it's the best place to watch a game in the world.
