Seems like LSU fans would stop with this nonsense now that Florida sucks. Yes, you should be able to get pummeled in 2 SEC games and go to the SEC Championship over a team that loses by 1 point to a division rival on the road.

SC in '11.

Just win the games and it doesnt matter. The SEC is a gauntlet. Every week is a tough game.

How are you gonna win shite when all of these teams are better this year?
I have no answer for Florida, they have some supernatural power over us. I hope we'll get them this year, but that's never a guarantee. Georgia has barely managed to beat us the past few years, that game is winnable. We have SC and Kentucky's number, and Vandy is back to being Vnady. Mizzou should be good but they have a lot of question marks, we could win that game. Arky will be a fun game, were both on similar trajectories, and we get them at home. Bama will be tough, but if last years game is any indication with Dobbs, we can put up a fight much more than we have in the years prior. We should be pretty good, barring injuries.

For Georgia, their only realistic goal is to win the SEC East, so yes.

this never would have affected the SEC West winner
I was going to dispute this, but I'm glad I checked my facts first. If cross-divisional games were disregarded 2006 would have resulted in a three way between Arkie with a loss to LSU, Auburn with losses to Arkie and Georgia, and LSU with losses to Auburn and Florida. Each posted a 1-1 record against the other two. Its speculation as to how such a change would affect the order of tiebreakers but overall conference record would surely be among the first two or three. So Arkie almost certainly still goes to Atlanta.
But division championships should be determined by division games. Any other criteria is an absurdity with at least a hint of corruption.

So LSU goes 7-1, beating Bama away and losing to Ole Miss away in OT by 1. Bama goes 6-2, losing at home to Tennessee 57-6 and losing to Georgia 63-12. Bama wins the division. Don't bitch.

uh...Auburns won the SEC (2x), been to the NCC (2x), and won it (1x), since the last time UGA won the SEC...

And still won six games? Was there a mid-November plane crash? Federal indictments for racketeering and incest? Just what year was this?

In other words, cross division rivals have got to go...

My math is a little off. Let's try again. Bama 5-3. Blown out by UT and UGA and LSU. Two at home. LSU is 6-2, losing by a total of 3 points in West road games. Bama goes to Atlanta. Wins the SEC. I'm sure LSU fans would be thrilled with that.

So the loss to LSU doesn't count against their record?

It would be a more fair system.
But that probably wouldn't stop me from bitching. I'm not the sort that lets a little thing like hypocrisy shut me up.

LSU 51-0 over Bama. LSU has better conference record. Bama wins SEC. Tiger rant says congrats Bama? Probably.

It makes complete sense. But I dont know why you think this is LSUs idea, Spurrier has been carrying this torch ever since the SEC champ game started
Posted on 4/14/15 at 12:22 pm to geauxnavybeatbama
No. I like the forced parity based on historical dominance. I think it should go to 9 games though so you're playing your rival of relative historic equal, one good historically and one bad historically.
LSU's should cross division games should be:
Florida, Tennessee and Vandy one year
Florida, Georgia and Kentucky the next.
Florida, South Carolina and Mizzou the next.

A LSU fan started the thread. And I've seen two schools advocate this, LSU being one of them.
