I'm curious... what do you y'all HONESTLY think our record will be?
8-4 for me

I'm at 8-4 too. 9-3 if we can catch a break or two along the way.

I'm thinking 8-4 would be good, 9-3 would be great.

I'll go 9-3 but I'll be happy with 8-4

9-3
Best case imo is 10-2, worst case is 7-5.

Alabama and Arkansas?

I'm not really sure. Alabama is easily our hardest game of the season but I keep going back and forth on Arkansas.
If I had to rank our schedule, hardest to easiest, I'd say
@Bama
Arkansas or Georgia
Oklahoma
@Missouri
@Florida
SCe
@Kentucky
Vandy
Bowling Green
North Texas

I'd say 8-4. Probably just as good of a chance for 7-5. I really think this team has enough talent to beat anyone on that schedule. Obviously depth is a concern.

Not to answer for NorthGaVol...but I think that Arkansas, while not as good overall as Georgia, could be a worse match-up for UT than Georgia.
Arkansas' OL is going to be downright nasty...actually, both of their lines are going to be very good. I think UT has a better chance to compete on the line of scrimmage vs UGA than verse Arky. Especially UT's OL.

Pretty much my exact thoughts. I also factored in that Tennessee has taken Georgia to the wire the past two seasons with two pretty bad teams. I feel like the talent level between UT/UGA is pretty much even now for the first time in a while.
Arky also scares me due to it being sandwiched in between the Florida and Georgia games. UT will be riding high as hell back in Knoxville if they finally knock off Florida this year.

quote:I guess it depends on who you ask but I recall most people saying UGA's OL was one of the best in the nation last year and we return all but one starter off of it. Our DL should be stout but we'll see how things play out. Also, if you play UF, then Ark, then UGA, you're going to be pretty beat up by the time you get to us.

Here is what I was considering with regards to OL.
Denver Kirkland - 6-5, 343 JR
Sebastian Tretola - 6-5, 322 SR
Mitch Smothers - 6-3, 315 SR
Marcus Danenhauer - 6-4, 322 SR\
Dan Skipper - 6-10, 307
That averages 6-5, 322...and not a single underclassman on the starting 5. On their run-heavy offense...they will be lining up and running over a lot of people. They will be big, strong and each will have at least 4 years of strength and conditioning training under their belts (along with 3 years in Bert's system).
Georgia's heaviest OL is still a pound below the Arkansas average. I think that UT's defense will match up better to Georgia's smaller, but more mobile OL than Arkansas' monstrosities.
ETA...(This is based on Georgia's OL from last year...I couldn't find a depth chart for this year yet).

Last year's team was a .500 team and this is a 4 loss team. Roster is still full of young and inexperienced players. Schedule is once again one of the toughest in the country. Talent level and depth certainly got better compared to the last few years though.

I don't think their OL will be any better than our front 7. I think it'll come down to our OL vs. their front 7.
