Longwhorn fans have been jealous of us since time began. They literally have no traditions that weren't copied from their Daddy A&M.
I mean, I know nobody outside of A&M thinks this true.
The question is what percentage of A&M folks honestly think this is true.
You're one of the village idiots Old Sarge, and it may be age. The A&M folks I know give Longhorns a hard time, but they know they'd get laughed out of the room if they played a "jealousy" card.

Aggies, I would like to offer you an olive branch.
This mention of yearbooks has reminded me of something.
Auburn calls our yearbook the "Glomerata" despite the fact that I have no idea what the frick that means.
Just wanted to offer that as good faith proof that I really was curious why you would choose to reject a common word in the english language. (cause apparently we hate the word yearbook).

just about the traditions, Kentucker, or do you think it also has a bit to do with the attitudes about the traditions.
I mean, everyone is usually proud of their own traditions, or if not straight out proud, enjoys those traditions (Stanford band, Stanford tree).
You don't think there is a different vibe to the way the Aggies treat their traditions?
When have you ever seen a thread started by an Aggie boasting our traditions? Contrarily, during football season there is constantly a thread going about yell leaders, bonfire, yell practice, etc. We love our traditions and will confront haters, but i have yet to experience an aggie throwing it in people's faces unprovoked.

I didn't take your post personally at all, jso0003.
Just wondered why you cared.
Peace.

Good God, they're the ultimate troll.
Have to hand it to your insecurity, y'all don't let go.

You are out of touch with actual sip grads. I am friends with many who are successful business leaders. They all admit that from a cultural standpoint that they are jealous of what A&M has. They wish they had more traditions that were not shallow and forced. They hate that their school has become a commuter school full of liberal out of state imports run by people that have no connection to the school.
This is the truth. You can puff your chest and act like you don't care but it's true.

How is "Former Student" weird?
And why would anyone else care?
Not trying to be confrontational, but file this one under so what?
This is an overall perfect summary for this thread. But let me ask you this, what would have been the overall reaction if an LSU fan started this?

The exact same

Dude, those chaps with the original "insecurities" are as dead as a WWI Vet. TAMU keeps trying like hell to catch up, but why? WHY?
You know what stand out to me? The Old Rivalries Board on TA. That was the place where you could kick the arse of Baylol and Tceh.
You're in a different place now. Move the frick on.

Same reaction--from my standpoint, anyway.
Can't speak for others, obviously.

TAMU grads run the state of Texas, there is no catching up...

Sao ... Ags & Horns & Bears & Horned Frogs & Cougars & Owls & Red Raiders are neighbors and family members--you know that.
We'll never "move on."
We interact w those folks much more often (daily) than we rub elbows w UGA grads.
It's similar to South Carolina and Clemson.
And/or Florida and FSU.
Proximity (and history) breeds interest.
That's just the way it is, friend.

As stated previously, it would not surprise me if the Longhorn friend you do hang out with are the old school guys who probably wanted to hang on to Mack Brown. I doubt seriously any of them would be jealous of A&M, but if anyone would pine for the strange traditions, it would be them. Thankfully, Austin is more liberal than A&M, and yes, a whole lot more appealing to out of state folks (especially the grad schools).
So, with chest maintained, I really don't care that you have pretend UT friends who are jealous of A&M.
